The cottages are eco-friendly private retreat, surrounded by forest and farmland these are completely solar and wind powered. Stringybark Cottages offer a choice of four different cottage accommodation facilities Gumnut cottage, Sugar gum cottage and Peppermint & Blue gum cottages. Each cottage offers privacy and relaxing atmosphere, these cottages are furnished with fully equipped kitchenette, cozy wood fires, comfortable sofas, a hand crafted red gum coffee table and dining table overlooking the natural bush land or manicured gardens. The Cottages are set amongst three acres of native and exotic gardens where you can stroll, sit, read, and enjoy the tranquility of the surrounds. Enjoy the piping of the bellbirds, arise early and catch glimpses of the local wildlife. Take a leisurely walk through the 70 acres of Stringybark forest. To absorb the ancient culture and natural beauty of the region visit the local Aboriginal centre, Krowathunkoolong Keeping Place, and conservation areas such as the Mitchell National Park, McLeod’s Morass wildlife reserve or the spectacular Silt Jetties. Visitors can go to courthouse, an extravaganza of towers, arches and gables, and St Mary’s Cathedral and the famous Buchan Caves or can take a cruise on the paddle steamer Curlip at Marlo.
