Excellent location right near the town, friendly staff and great food, couldn't fault it.

Good value for price, however this hotel now charges on a per room basis and I wouldn't stay here at weekends as it now seems to attract a more rowdy element. Also cost of an evening meal seems high.

Mid week break at the Stretton HotelExcellent evening meal with prompt and pleasant service, looked at hundreds of Blackpool hotels and guest houses and just plumped for this one and we were lucky.Just over the road from the sea - handy for the tower and shops.Would definately stay again due to the friendly staff and the good standard of the food.

Right in the heart of blackpoolThis hotel is right in the centre of blackpool yet just far away from all the noise. The staff are very friendly and polite when we arrived we was cheeky and asked at check in for a sea view and got up graded to a sea view room free of charge

We didn't get the sea view room we'd requested on the LateRooms 'special requests' but this was not a major problem to us. The hotel was very busy, despite our stay being end of January, so we assumed this was why we were unlucky. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Shower cubicle was a little small, but the shower itself worked fine although it wasn't a power shower. We didn't try the evening meals on offer, but the menu looked nice each night and the restaurant was busy on both nights we stayed, so the meals can't be at all bad. Breakfast was very nice, usual selection of cereals, juice, fruit, yoghurts followed by full English or several other alternatives for the lighter appetite. Nicely laid up tables, with good, fast waitress service, taking our breakfast order and offering tea/coffee and toast which arrived nice and quickly. Overall, customer service was excellent - friendly staff in the restaurant, bar and reception, who were all happy to advise and help us, or just chat! Reception have details of a very cheap car park some 2 minutes walk from the hotel - the nearby seafont car park is VERY expensive - as at end of Jan '09, for a 48 hour ticket, it was £14 as opposed to £4.40 in the recommended car park. The latter is also protected by CCTV. It's not far away, so do not be put off by the streetmap they provide you with, which makes it look miles away - it's not!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so much so, we are staying there again in the near future.

I wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful for 1 night, it was basic but thats all I needed, it was clean and lovely and warm. I have been in a lot worse places and paid a lot more for less. Thanks to the Stretton.

The staff were all very efficient and friendly. The hotel was very clean - my room even being cleaned while I was at breakfast. The room itself was fine, the only problem being that, as a large person, I could get into the shower, the rigid door being too narrow.I stayed in the \"off-season\" in late November when the room was only £35/night, which was great value for money. The breakfasts were varied and very good, as was the evening meal, even though restricted in choice, it was good quality, served very hot and very quiickly.I would recommend this hotel - and even at \"full price\" I would still say is value for money

We visited the Stretton Hotel on a one night family break, hotel staff were friendly and we were made very welcome on arrival.Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice but ensure that if you want to eat at the hotel for your evening meal that you book with reception before 2pm or when you check in as we were not advise of this and could not eat at the hotel on the night of our arrival as it was fully booked. Overall our stay at this hotel was pleasant and we would return.

This hotel is excellent value for money. We got a large sea view room newly furnished and fitted. Breakfast menu had a good selection of english and continental. Dinner (on our tariff an extra option) had to be booked at reception. The meal was adequate, but at £9.95 for a 4course meal it was value for money. The thing that really made our stay was the staff, friendly and efficient, from the manager to the cleaners, nothing was too much trouble. A great team of people with a good team leader.

I was unhappy when I realised that the hotel allows pets as I didn’t want to sleep on a bed that a dog may have been allowed to sleep on. After several calls to the hotel with many questions we decided we may as well go with it but we definitely weren’t keen on the idea. After suffering delays on the M6 and trying to find somewhere to park, we finally arrived at around 8pm to find that the 24 hour reception was unmanned. After a 10 minute wait I went to search for a member of staff. I eventually found a member of staff and asked if any one was available to check us in, her manner was rude and unhelpful, a trend that continued with this particular member of staff for the rest of our stay, but she was like this to all guests so at least it wasn’t personal, however she didn't have the right attitude or interpersonal skills to be working in a hotel and was offputting. We were left waiting for a further 5 minutes until a member of staff showed up. Fortunately from there on we found that things greatly improved. We were fortunate enough to be allocated a sea view room (possibly due to the fact that I had made so many concerned phone calls with queries prior to our stay that the staff and I were almost on first name terms). The room was small with limited wardrobe and storage space, but tastefully decorated and very clean. There was a bathroom with a shower toilet and wash basin, again this was very clean. The towels were also changed daily. On out first night it was warm and we found our room to be very warm but there was a fan in the bottom of the wardrobe which blew hot or cold air, but we didn’t find it until the next morning. We found the traffic noise hard going but we live in a quiet location and are not used to this and if you want a sea view room then you have to accept that there will be a certain amount of noise. The breakfast was served a bit early, between 8.30am and 9.30am but was very good and the service was fantastic. There was a system where you wait to b
