Had a bad stay at this hotel, the only good point I would say was the close proximity to the airport. The owners / staff of this hotel are rude and arrogant. The rooms are small, smelly and facilities are bad. Service was the worst we have ever received. One note to anyone staying there - CHECK YOUR ROOM BEFORE PAYING UPFRONT. You are well within your rights to check the room prior to staying because you WILL NOT get a refund if you are unhappy.

AvoidRoom was tiny to say the least (I could touch all the walls by simply standing in the centre o the room, the walls were paper thin - I could hear someone snoring next door.Was so bad I nearly didn't stay - even though I was only in the room for 6 hrs it was awful - the fair from the airport was £15 one way and then £7 back... stay somewhere closer for an extra £10.

Budget hotels should take a leaf out of the Stockwood's Customer Service Manual..Ok, so the Stockwood isn't going to feature in Conde Nast Johansen's guide any time soon and a honeymmon destination it is not, but for an overnight stay with an early departure from Luton airport, it is difficult to fault. It was spotlessly clean, the staff were both helpful and friendly and a cab ride to the airport was about £6. The only issue was that the shower took longer to warm up than a premiership footballer on a Boxing Day fixture.

Pretty miserable room, all furniture/furnishings very old & worn, old paint colour clearly visible through most recent paint job, 2 towels for 2 people, no hand towel or hair towels, no extra given when requested, very noisy early morning-opposite a garage.Clean linen and good size bed, 10 minutes to Luton airport

Not Very 'Cheap' but Very 'Cheerful'Ultra basic accommodation - think Travel Lodge. Some parts a little shabby (carpets) other parts appeared very new - bathroom in particular. Very friendly, helpful staff. A short walk into town - I was going to a concert at the Library which was a 10 minute walk away.The only negatives would be that the hotel is in a noisy neighbourhood, and the breakfast - very poor quality indeed, even for an inclusive continental breakfast. £39 for a single room (in the attic) was too steep - I would stay here again, but not at that rate. For the level of accommodation and the noise from the surroundings, £29 would be much better value.

stockwood hotel, Lutonyou really get what you pay for accomadation wise!! However, thouroghly clean room, but very strong smell of cleaning product. kindly let me use carpark for longer than i stayed.No Nasty surprises which was a releif. Good for a cheap, neccessary, work related stay-over.

Cheap budget accomodationNot a bad experience and stay altogether. The guy on the desk was very polite, helpful and courteous.Room was smallish and dated, but was adequate for my purposes! Which was somewhere to sleep for the night.Only slight complaint I have, is that the duvet in my room smelt slightly sweaty. Other than that, not a bad hotel and I would use it again in the future!

this was a cheap overnight stay only, up early to the airport in the morning, and arrived late. The shower and toilet were down a corridor, the room was very small, but then that's as advertised.I arrived late and the receptionist (owner??) stayed on late to check me in, and he quickly arranged my taxi for the moring (5:30) before I could ask, so very helpful and efficient.Would I stay again - if I just wanted to arrive late, sleep and leave - yes -

You do not get what you paid for ...Additional Cost for using Credit Cards. Additional Cost for arriving after 11pm. I did not get what I paid for. Singel Room with shared Shower and toilet. No Breakfast. No wake up service. TV Remot Control did not work to set the alarm

quiet quaint getawayif you fly into Luton airport and need a place to stay for the night, this is a great place for the amount of money you pay.. for me (being a single girl staying alone) i wanted something safe, clean, and not a hostel. this was much better than i expected. the room was small, but had everything i needed and the breakfast was sufficient.

Internet/BreakfastNo option for cooked breakfast. At £40.00 a night I would expect a boiled egg at least Internet access at £5 a night. Come on I pay that a month. Then I was asked to pay £0.50 for a one page print out from their £1.00 for 20 minute access to the hotel internet?

The Positive: The front of house staff and the manager were courteous and very helpful. The Negative: My room, a tiny single without en suite, was warm enough on arrival but too cool when I got up at 7 a.m. - and I do not like a lot of heat. The pillow provided for the bed was thin and not comfortable, I propped it up with a jumper rather than get up to ask for another. The single bed was jammed against into a corner (just clearing the door) and when I turned over during the night, it was easy to inadvertently hit the wall with my arm. The tiny wash basin was uncomfortable to use: when I bent down to wash my face, my head kept making contact with the wall. The remote handset for the tv was dirty and did not work properly. However, the worst thing was that the room had an odd smell. I can't say what it was but when I took my clothes out of my bag at home, they reeked of the 'room'. If I had not arrived as late and had been staying for more than one night I would have asked to change - but perhaps they all have that smell. I have stayed in many hotels of all grades: the 'rack rate' for this room was £45 - I paid £30, but think £20 would have been appropriate. I paid by debit card and an additional £1 was levied (usually I use a credit card - charge also levied - because of the extra security against fraud and theft, but I had forgotten the P.I.N. on my new card) which was unexpected - this should be made clear when booking. One final thing. Despite having entered my pin number to validate the card, the receptionist then took the card from the reader, and in one almost surreptitious move, turned it over and noted the last three security numbers from the rear of the card on to the checking-in form I had filled out. I have NEVER had this done before, and when challenged on this, he said it was for 'security' (the standard answer these days, it seems). When pressed, he said it was 'to prove they had seen the card.' I pointed out that the inputting of the P.I. number via t

I only stayed there for a single night and have found it pleasant and warm. The daily rate includes a simple continental breakfast and it's excellent value for money and would stay there again.
