Brief StayA good room - looked as though it had recently been refurbished. The rest of the hotel looked a little tired, like it had seen better, even very good days. Perhaps the owners have plans to update the general decor like they have the rooms.

A work in progressWhile my room was refurbished to a high standard, the effect was diminished by the door to the room which had seen better days, infact had obviously suffered severe vandalism ithe past - door panel replaced and old damaged lock still in place. Breakfast was not included, and the £90 rate seemed excessive for what ws provided. Some parts of the hotel had been upgraded, but others were still in need of renovation. I was disturved during the night by a low-frequency hum, obviously some somrt of machinery noise.

Average at best and expensive

This hotel was probably beautiful in 1950, the last time it was done up. My room was ridiculously large which, added to the overall state of disrepair in the hotel, gave the room an atmosphere of horror film like creepiness. The fire alarm went off at 6am on the first morning, 6.38am on the second morning. At breakfast there was a trickle of milk on the table for tea/coffee and only white toast was served. The orange juice looked less than appealing. The lobby is deceptively modern and if the rest of teh hotel reflected this, it could be stunning, hoever the rest of teh hotel is like the 'Twilight zone' and I would not recommend anyone other than Derek O'Corrah to stay there.

New part of hotel is good, but I recently got put in the old part that was awful and freezing cold. Had to sit in my room fully clothed and wearign my coat all night. Asked to move rooms and they moved me to an equally awful room. Asked to move to the new part and they told me there was no space. Next morning the receptionist let slip there were spare rooms in the new part and that it was odd i wasn't moved again. Rubbish experience, and the last thing I needed after a long days work.

Room although recently done up was poorly finished and had trailing elexctrical wires running loose down the wall. Plus the radiator did not work and was replaced with an electric fan heater which was warm enough on what was a mild night but noisy and could not leave on when I was out of the room. Window glass also had a huge crack in it. Just scruffy overall. Did not use resturaunt

No that bad a hotel, very old fashioned but good location. Main gripe was the reception, the staff were not helpful at all. Left a bad taste in mouth and will definitley not be using this hotel again.

Strange place. One can see that they are trying to improve the hotel, it's reasonably clean, the room was fine (but I get the impression that there are different standards elsewhere - or least different door key systems. But there is this air of depression about the building, it does not (to me) feel terribly welcoming - although the staff are.The hotel is on many floors and one can get temporarily lost. I would have liked better fire exit signage. There was no obviously open bar that I could find.Really quite limited menu at the restaurant. Unusually, I did not find anything (simple) there that I wanted to eat, although from what I could see with other diners, it looked reasonable. The room service menu would have been better, but I was not hungry enough to pay the extra £2.50. I didn't feel sufficiently motivated to have the breakfast (an extra £8).Good, free, internet access - but you have to ask for the password. Finally - the price. Anywhere else in the UK I would have expected to pay £50-70 for a similar room in a hotel with similar facilities. I was informed by my taxi driver that "decent" hotels in Aberdeen cost upwards of £200/night. His opinion of this hotel was "it's better than it was".

on arivall missed the car park as there were no signs pointing it out, but it is a large open air car park area with a security barrier, at reception i was greeted by foreign worker who's english wasn't the best. eventually got checked. The elevator was a scary experience, wondered at one point if it was going to make it, lots of judders, creaking and strange unhealthy noises. arrived at floor and there was no signs directing to rooms, and the doors had no signs? all quite strange, eventually found my room after trying my key card in a few doors. the room was large but seemed to by half way through a refurb, the furnishings and bathroom suite looked new, but the wallpaper was hanging from the walls, the ceiling looked stained and dirty and the bathroom ceiling wad again stains and a hole in it.the staff in the bar werent affiliated with the term \"service with a smile\" and i even felt like it was a chore for them to serve me, and the drinks were over priced.a plesent evening but was awoken very early by the cleaners around 0730 - 0800 even though check out isn't until 1100.the hotel is in a good location though, just across from the train station. a few hundred yards from the dock, and the same from union street.

This hotel was very close to the sea so the seagulls noise very nearly tipped me over the edge. when we collected the car after a 2 night stay we had to head straight to the power wash and after 3 washes the mess is finally off but this is definatly the only complaint we had about this hotel. It was clean and tidy and although it could be doin with some upgradding, our room was fine with a lovely bathroom. the reception staff couldnt have been any nicer, helping us with directions, recommending places to eat and go and generally in any way they could. the bar prices were surprisingly low, probably cheaper than the pubs in the town which was 5 mins round the corner. i would recommend this hotel for every other reason but not a good nights sleep if you cant handle seagulls!!! that is the only reason i would not return.

Hotel is in a great location with the bus and train station on your doorstep. It was good that there was a fridge in each room with soft drinks / water. Plasma screen tv was a bonus. Rooms are of a good size as is the bathroom. We were in the old section of the hotel but was just as good as the new section.

We only needed one night accommodation and Late Rooms provided us with all our requirements - The Station Hotel is perfect for city centre shopping as well as being close to the Airport and the coast. We hope to be able to visit Aberdeen again but for a longer stay and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

although centrally located and hand for the bus and trains services, this hotel is in need of a major upgrade
