Great customer service, very cute suite with kitchen and living room. Pillows were much too big and free breakfast only with a coupon.

Although there is not much by way of shops & restaurants in the immediate vicinity, Foggy Bottom metro station is about a 10 min walk. My room was huge with a kitchenette and small dressing room. Condition of the room & fittings was adequate, ie, could do with a make over.

You can't ask for a better location. Our family walked everywhere - no need for a rental car. Metro was great. Hotel staff was fantastic. We were upgraded to a larger room once they found out we had 5 in our family (2 of them teenagers). The rooms are a bit outdated, but they are clean and comfortable. Plus we didn't spend much time there anyway! Our room had a separate living/dining area with a sofa/sleeper. It had a kitchen with a full sized fridge, microwave, and gas stove that was very convenient for quick meals. The housekeeping staff washed the dishes every day. The bedroom was huge. It had two queen beds, but could have easily fit a third. There is a CVS next door where you can buy milk, bread, cereals, etc. A few blocks north is Washington Circle where you can find many restaurants and an ice cream shop. The hotel restaurant is pricey if you're on a budget, but the meals we had were excellent. We consider ourselves to be a "Marriott" family, but I'd recommend this hotel anyone who's willing to trade the latest and greatest hotel furniture for something out of fashion, but cozy and very spacious.

Very convenient to walk to DC sites like the Lincoln Memorial, White House, etc. My room was quite large and was clean. You really can't beat the location; you're just a few blocks from the White House and the Lincoln Memorial.

Locations-wise this is an excellent hotel for those who are able to explore Washington on foot. The suite was very comfortable. The kitchen area was adequate though could have done with a face-lift. The hotel is located in two buildings which puzzled most guests until they discovered that there were two entrances! The price was good when you considering the hotel's location which is right in the heart of the city withing easy reach of most of the major sightseeing attractions. Garage Parking is limited so early arrival is recommended for those with cars.

As far as location goes, this hotel cannot be beat in Washington D.C. The closest you can get to the Vietnam and Lincoln Memorials in the city. The neighborhood is a safe one to walk around in...after all of the rumors I heard about Washington D.C., I felt safe there. The only complaint I have is the parking situation. I am from California where we all have cars, so I rented a car once I got to Washington. I had to utilize the hotel's "valet parking" to park the car because as you know there is no parking in Washington. The parking consists of charging you $30 dollars a night plus a $3 dollar tax to equal $33 dollars a night. On top of which it is only right to tip the doormen upon retrieving and dropping off your car. This got very expensive during the 5 nights I had my car parked. I also noticed that they park there "valet cars" in a public parking garage around the corner from the hotel that only charges a $17 dollars a day flat rate. Sound kinda fishy to me. To top it all off someone in the garage dented the passenger side door and scraped the paint. And as many of you know on a rental car, much less your own car, it's a real hassel to deal with. I would suggest taking the Metro and forget the rental car if you stay here.

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable! The kitchenettes are great! There is a full-sized refrigerator, cooktop and sink. I was there for a conference and it was wonderful to be able to sleep a bit later and have breakfast in the room before I set out for the day! The room was quiet. The staff greeted us each time we entered the lobby which made us feel very welcomed!

Was provided 2queen beds & location. Didn't impress employee's respect.

This was in a great location not far from the Lincoln memorial. Its a relatively old building but had been renovated and beds were almost brand new. The room also offered a small kitchen so we catered for our own breakfast each morning. The staff were very helpful.

Our stay was fine. The room was very clean, the staff was helpful and friendly, good location. Close to the monuments maybe not so close to museums or capital. The only thing was in the pictures it shows a seperate sitting room (living room) we didn't have that. It would have been nice with two children. Most important...we felt safe. Staff was always at the front desk and/or at the front door. Overall a nice place to stay and probally would again.

I was very pleased with State Plaza Hotel. It is conveniently located near the National Mall and the 80 bus stops very close by. The rooms were large with cooking facilities. We were missing some items from our kitchen, but after I requested them we had everything we needed. There is a CVS and liquor store right next door, and a Safeway very close by. We always felt safe when we were out day or night. All the staff were extremly pleasant and helpful. My only complaint was that the internet in our room sometimes did not work and only one of the computers in their business office worked. If I had been on a major business trip this could have been a problem. Go up to the GW neighborhood for lots of restaurants. We're going back.

Toured DC with family. Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, very roomy. Very old, but attempt had been made to update. Staff was friendly. Had to walk up 3 steps and round a corner to get to elevator which was difficult with luggage. No pool. Very conveniently located near White House and other attractions.

Loved the size of the room and the small kitchenette. Great hotel, great price, great location, and very friendly service.

Very clean hotel, Staff was very helpful. Kitchenette had new plates and pots and pans. Huge money saver for a family. My valet parked car was washed for me without asking. Room was always very clean. Hotel is about four blocks from the Memorials and about four blocks from the metro station. Free internet in room and two office center computers available for free use. Great if you need to print a boarding pass. Fitness room is small, cardio equipment all worked fine but universal machine needed attention with a can of WD-40. Only problem was that room was too warm and thermostat did little to change the temperature. We opened the window and that solved the problem, other than that our stay was excellent. For the money highly recommended. not luxury, but very nice.

It's a 10 +/- minute walk (depending on the 6 yr old) to the Foggy Bottom Metro stop, from which it is only a few stops to the Mall where we spent most of our time visiting the museums. Alternatively it is about the same distance to the Lincoln Memorial which is always worth a visit with the kids. The lobby was a bit small and there was no pool for the kids, but given the size of the property it's understandable. Overall this was one of the better stays we've had for a hotel in this price range.
