Very bad accommodation, staff at the hotel is not friendly nor helpful at all. Our luggage was lost at the airport and for 5 days none has helped us and even refused a phone call at the airport and they made us use our mobile (intercontinental fares). Breakfast is poor, there is only one elevator, very slow. Rooms are very dirty and carpet even more.

Unlike its online description, the hotel is below average in every way. There is no lobby, the rooms are in desperate need of updating, the staff barely speaks English, and they are not willing to accommodate guest?s needs. Most frustrating was the sauna like temperature of the hotel. The rooms have individual climate controls that don?t work, and the hotel's central heater, which is not controllable from the room, was continuously blowing hot air, which hovered at 82 degrees. The room was so hot that we didn?t sleep all night even with window wide open to the winter air. After complaining I was assured that the heat would be turned down. But again and again nothing happened. On the 2nd night I was finally pushed to the point that I wouldn?t leave the front desk until they actually acted on their multiple promises. Stay here only if you want to waste your time fighting with the staff just to get a night's rest.

The room was too small and the fact that I had to request an iron and ironing board was unsettling. I realize that the elevator being out of order is an unforeseen circumstance, but it did add to the displeasure.

Average. Though there appeared to be a lot of renovation - not only on this hotel but in the area - in progress, much of the hotel was outdated.

la posizione dell'hotel è fantastica, vicino a diverse attrazioni di ny, si potrebbe migliorare la colazione e ci vorrebbe una altro ascensore, per il resto ha un rapporto prezzo qualita molto buono.

This was our 3rd stay. Each time we found friendly staff, clean rooms, safe feeling. No frills but great location.

We travel to NYC a few times each month and usually stay within the Time Sq, or Empire State Building Zones as we really like being able to walk to our hotel from Penn Station. Out of all the hotels I have ever stayed in, in NYC. the Stamford Hotel was the absolute worst. We checked in during a fire alarm. The front desk assured us that everything was fine, but told us we can not use the elevator and would have to climb the stairs to our room. The hotel is under renovation and they don't do a good job of closing off areas that are being worked on. Instead, the entire hotel appears to be a work zone and an eye sore. We got to our very small room (although we are used to smaller hotel rooms... in NYC). The desk chair had a broken leg. The air conditioning was not working. Oh, and to top it off, the fire alarm went on for a full hour.. non stop. We were exhausted from walking and touring Liberty and Ellis Island.. We just wanted a nap before dinner, but the fire alarm continued to sound giving me a headache. We called downstairs in regards to the air conditioning not working. We asked how to turn on the AC and they said they would send someone up. But, then did not. Finally the alarm stops. I manage to pass out from exhaustion only to wake up thirty minutes later in a sweat as the AC is still not working. The heat is starting to make me miserable. We call downstairs about the AC again. They promise to send someone up. This time someone comes up but tells us the AC is on and our room is fine. He explains that he can feel cold air coming from the vents. I hold my hand to the vent and feel nothing. We went out clubbing in NYC and got back to the hotel at 2am. Noticed the Korean restaurant is open 24 hours. We eat. Our tempura comes to us with a huge black hair stuck to one of the shrimp.

They have a different price between the confirmation given by venere on web and actual rate I paid for. it was only little bit expensive. so that I accept that in the end. As to the service on Limousine to the Airport I booked though this hotel, they came late for 20 minute and this made me feel very worry if I miss the flight. In the end, it was ok to be on time for the check in for the flight. For the elth I think no problem.

The room that I was given was definitely NOT ""recently refurbished"", as claimed by the hotel's website. The clothes hangers & drawers were broken, room carpet as stained, bed was small, and the bathroom was very old. I moved out after staying there for just 1 night!Only consolation was the very central location. But I felt cheated as I was expecting the rooms to be much better maintained.
