Room very small, too small for a couple with a big suitcase.Room too warm and air con wasn't blowing any air out, even at coldest temp and strongest fan setting. Asked for it to be fixed on day 1 - nothing happened. Asked again on day 2 - they told us it was not turned to air con at this time of year and the hot weather we were experiencing was unusual. They said they'd get the manager to turn the 'main air con switch' on, but nothing was done. Asked for fan but no joy either. Aside from the air con, the hotel was in a good location. Quite noisy both within the hotel late at night and outside (we had to sleep with windows open for cool air). Hotel room was very clean. Lift very small and not always available - the cleaners monopolised it during the day. I wouldn't stay there again for that price, but definitely in that area.

My boyfriend and I spent two nights here for my 24th birthday. We found it was in a great location, surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants and close to the Metro. The room was smaller than the photos suggest but it was still very pleasant (apart from our view - a brick wall!). The staff were very helpful and advised us on places to go and how to use the metro. All in all we had a fab time and the hotel was lovely and cosy to come back to after a long day of site seeing : )

Room was a bit on the small side but quite cosy, very modern and funky looking! The hotel is on a corner of two roads, one being a quiet road and the other a very busy (loud) road. Our room was on the busy road but windows were double glazed although church bells still woke us up at 8am every morning! Next door cafe is currently being renovated (or should i say gutted) and we had drilling and banging noises from early morning so it wasn't a very relaxing break when in hotel between 8am and 4pm (doesn't look like its going to be finished any time soon). No tea/coffee making facilities which is a major inconveinience as its nearly impossible to get a cup of tea in Bastille/Paris. Hotel is in good location for bars, restaurants and cafes, there is a couple of good bakeries to get breakfast from so dont feel you have to fork out for expensive breakfast at hotel. Staff were freindly and spoke good english, although nobody we spoke to knew where we could get Euro Disney tickets from.

Great location in vibrant area. Only downside for us was the hourly church chimes (opp hotel) which start at 8m as we were there for a leisure break and late nights.Great design, free wifi was a bonus, but smallish rooms and no tea/coffee making facilities.Front of house speak excellent english and are willing to help.

Helpful staff - they went to the trouble of printing out directions for various of our requests. Reasonably funky hotel offering value for money. Our 14 year old daughter greatly appreciated the use of the PC in the lobby.

We got to the hotel quite smoothly - if you're flying into Paris, everywhere is quite a way from the airport, but once you've got the RER to Chatelet, the Standard is only a couple of stops away by metro. It's about 5mins walk from Bastille. The staff were really helpful, even looking up directions for us to an event we were going to way out of town. The rooms are small but clean, with all the basics you need - no hairdryer, but you can borrow one from reception for free. We didn't eat breaksfast in the hotel as it's expensive in comparision with the many great bakeries & cafes nearby which have great croissants and coffee for half the price - plus there's an amazing market nearby on weekends! The shower was good - although there was only half a door on it which resulted in a bit of a pool on the floor after! Bastille's a breat location to get to all the main sights in central Paris too - and it's great to go out in of an evening - close to the Opera, but more importantly, v near to lots of cafes, bars and restaurants! In all - good value for money, except the breakfast, and good location.

I was very impressed by the hotel. It is in a lively location, very easy to get to.On arrival, we were upgrated to a deluxe room, that was nice surprise. The room (101) had 3 big windows, and was quite spacious for a parisan hotel. flat screen TV, and powerful walkin shower. all the furnitures looked funky and new. I would definitely recommend the hotel to young couples or families. However, be aware that we can hear people enjoying their night outside and neighboor's doors slamming.

This is a rarity in Paris: a modern hotel which has efficient and quiet air conditioning, rooms that are well sound proofed not just from the road but from other rooms and an animated location.I understand a second hotel is opening shortly and I would give this one a try too.
