Staff at reception unhelpful and difficult, stains on the sheets and no offer to amend this. Buffet was below average for almost $40 per person and to top it off we got the worst smelling room I have ever been given. We found out later that this same room had been complained about by the people before us and they got moved! When we raised our concerns we were told nothing could be done!!

The location was perfect. It would have been nice to have at least one smoking area. Had to go down the elevator and outside to have a cigarette.

This hotel does everything it should. The rooms are a good size and are all very clean and tidy. Large bathroom with bath and shower so a good choice. The location is excellent as well. If you are looking for a hotel that is well placed for business or pleasure The Stamford is a good choice.

The room, facilities and staff were generally very good. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the city centre and from the water. The western restaurant was very good but the breakfast buffett (in the same venue) was just OK - stale cereal and not enough variety of fresh fruit. The only other negative was the poor selection of TV channels. For the price - breakfast included - it was excellent value.

$30 for parking and $50 deposit to use facilities were uncalled for, otherwise brilliant.

The hotel is extremely well located with easy access to the all the shops and very handy for both the ferries and the harbour. The rooms are large. This hotel is extremely good value and I would highly recommend it.

This hotel was wonderful - the facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and happy to assist with any requests. Their knowledge of surrounding area and service was excellent. The hotel was situated within the city and was easily walking distance to shops and services. I would happily stay there again!

Great location -- well appointed. Air system a little cold. Loved it -- we were only in Auckland one night and it was very central and allowed for evening walk down the port and restaurant area. Rooms were very comfortable.

I thought that the gym and pool facilities were excellent for an inner city hotel. Well designed, well maintained and with the benefit of a great view.

Comfortable. No health club. No pool. The Stamford plaza is located well for shopping and for access to the Auckland wharf area. There is construction going on which is a little disruptive.

The Stamford Plaza is one of my favourite places but my only concern is that the rooms facing Albert Street are not sound-proof and can be quite noisy into the early hours.
