St. James's Club and Villas is a lush tropical playground and sits on a private 100-acre estate boasting breathtaking ocean views and two white sand beaches. The Village is an adjacent sanctuary of residential-style villas tumbling down a gentle hillside towards the bay. After dark, there is a choice of four restaurants set either in the gardens, on the hillside or right down by the water's edge; the cocktail bars and live music to take night owls into the small hours. This was a great holiday. The staff were only too willing to help. Cassilla in the main bar is a treat - had my drink poured before I asked! Hyacinth in the rainbow restaurant is just wonderful and Sandra makes the most amazing omellettes at breakfast. Tammy and Prince on Client Services are so helpful - would go back any time!

I needed a room for myself and my nephew after a week of sailing around Antigua and Barbuda. The St. James Club was reasonably priced and provided a great place to wind down after an exciting week on the windy and high seas. I relished the long hot show and the time lounging by the pool drinking refreshing rum drinks and watching the other travelers. The grounds were well kept and beautiful, although the road to the hotel is full of pot holes and stirred a lot of criticism from the warm and friendly taxi driver, [...]. The staff was all very engaging and seemed generally interested in meeting the needs of the guest. I felt the hotel was safe but the doors and locks seemed a bit flimsy to me although a safe was in the room for valuables. Don't miss taking about a half mile walk out the front gate to the nearby Hideaway restaurant which was delightful. All in all it was a very good experience and a good value for the money.

My husband and I go to different islands in the caribbean several times a year. I am an international flight attendant and have traveled all across the world. We tried a new island and a new resort for this trip last month. The St. James Club was the worst resort we have ever stayed in. It was not relaxing and the beaches were horrible. There are only 4 restaurants and YOU MUST have reservations or they won't let you in. The menus are very similar so you wind up eating the same thing over and over. Only 1 restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, so you better hope you like it. The service was fairly typical for the Caribbean, some people were ok and some had a bad attitude. We normally stay at Starwood Resorts and we expect that level of service and comfort. You might as well go to a 30 cheap motel and save some money. We like to be able to snorkel right off the beach of the resort we stay in. One beach on a bay has stagnant water with oil puddles on it, and the other beach is full of seaweed the minute you step into the water with virtually no fish around. The rooms are disgusting! The tile floor had not been mopped in forever and your feet turned black from walking on it in your own room! Sheets had holes in them, bedspread was like a plastic material and the cheap wicker furniture was a joke! We compained to the management several times and they acted offended that we would dare to complain! We couldn't wait to leave and would never go back!!!

If you are looking for a classic Caribbean beach, this is not it. The Atlantic side was only okay and was infested by jellyfish so not swimmable. Had no A/C in room for 5 days, manager slow to move me to another room Not close to any activities

The property has two "private" beaches, one on the Atlantic Ocean and one on Mamora Bay. Mamora Bay is a protected cove so it is the perfect location for the properties watersports. Property offers great watersports options - kayaks, small catamarans, paddle boats, free swimming and a concession for both diving and deep sea fishing. There are palapas on the beach, but get there early if you want one. In addition to the beaches, there are like four pools on property including one that is adults only. The pools are spread out across the property, so between pools and beaches, the property could be full and you would not get the feeling of it being too crowded. The rooms are quite large and simply but comfortably appointed. Mini-fridges make it easy to keep drinks in your room. There aren't many rooms, if any, that don't offer at least a water view of some sort. The villas are great for couples traveling together, friends or families. The property is great for families. Be mindful of the properties evening dress code.

This was by far one of the best vacations I have had. Hotel was great, food excellent and the personel very helpful and friendly. Hope to go again next year !! Also like the fact that the owner has very much on site.

The staff is very accomodating and the antiguian people are very kind and honest. the room was wonderful and food was excellent. I definately would go again and stay at St James Club. But would rent a car, taxi's much too expensive.
