Quite niceI liked the building. The rooms were clean and fairly cozy. The hotel is located next to a fairly loud street but we had a room out back which was good. The view over Exeter was charming. Breakfast was ok, nothing stunning.

The accomodation was not worth £50 for a single room. Small room, basic accommodation, a small skylight window. Breakfast was good quality and comfortable bed but definitely not value for money

Great for visiting ExeterAn excellent small B and B style hotel which is ideally situated for visiting Exeter and the surrounding countryside. Well-decorated, clean and comfortable with friendly staff and good service. Also good value as price is per room including breakfast. There are 2 floors and no lift.

Emergency StopI had to book this room at short notice and didn't have time to read any reviews, mistake! Although I had booked a single room I had hoped for slightly more room. On arrival I was greeted politely and allocated room 7. Can only be described as the 'box room'. The ensuite shower was at best pathetic. The shower rail was coming away from the wall and was taped at the joint.I was kept awake by a barking dog and traffic noise and when I finally got to sleep the dog woke me at 10 past 5!Breakfast was probably the best experience, not much to beat. Apparently this hotel has recently undergone refurbishment would hate to think what it was like before.

st andrews hotel exeterMore like a smart guest house than a hotel but a lovely place nevertheless. Convenient location just up the road from the river and the town centre. Staff friendly and polite. Room clean, pleasant and warm.

Good value hotelthe room was fine for a 1 night stay, with a decent sized bed and space for my 17 year old lad. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. The only down side was the traffic noise as our bedroom was on the front of the building. That said its a reasonable location and represented good value. I believe there is some redevelopment being completed as well.

Parking good, within easy reach of Exeter. The general layout of the family room (6) we were allocated, was very well designed - have never seen that layout before, but wish more hotels would do same. Small bedside chest/table and a comfortable chair in the room would be welcome additions. Believe this hotel is to be refurbished by owners - I imagine this hotel will get even better.

Ideal for a family overnighterFamily room was nice and large to accommodate the extra put up bed for the children and beds very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and made the children very much at home. Was a convenient location for a stop-over for us, and was very clean and comfortable, has obviously been refurbished/redecorated recently so was great. Breakfast was OK, but obviously using value based ingredients which was OK for the price but as the rest of whole experience was better than expected, this seemed to stand out as very average, although it was perfectly acceptable. Even on quite a busy road, the double glazing was good at keeping the noise out, although the top floor was quite warm with the windows shut. Overal a very good experience.

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop off on our way to Cornwall. It's clear the hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard. Our room was immaculate and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. Some noise from road at front but not so annoying.Good breakfast with large choice.Close to town centre.

Clean but not a hotelNice enough place which was very clean but is misleading to call it a hotel. Only has B&B facilties - no other meals etc available - no A/C or satelite TV etc which you would expect in a hotel. I had room on the busy street side so was a bit noisy as window had to be open as no A/C. Has good parking and easy access to southern motorways. Good if you have a car - otherwise I'd stay elsewhere.

not for business travellershotel is clean and presentable, if your travelling on business and want a complete package then this hotel is not for you. There is no bar and no evening meal available. The room rate charged through late rooms is £10 above the normal rack rate which was disappointing.

We couldn't fault the quality of our room which had a kingsize bed and what looked like a newly refurbished shower room. We were very comfortable and the customer service was excellent. The owners were polite and hospitable. Breakfast was very good too.

friendly and helpful owners, good rooms (a bit warm in the room), good breakfastit was to warm in the room and the persons who slept in the front room could not sleep well because of the road-travel.

June 2009This hotel is very close to the city centre and it is on a busy road. It has recently been refurbished so my room was of a good standard. You will need to climb some stairs if your room is on the top floor. I only had a few Tv channels so was a bit disappointed with that. You have a choice of full English or Continental breakfast, juice, cereals etc. There seemed to be plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel.

Nice room, good valueRoom was comfortable and clean. Very good value for money. The breakfast was not bad at all - considering it was included in the price.water pressure in shower was not great.
