the room was great with a full kitchen, and plenty of space to relax and spread out. located right in the heart of downtown chicago, a couple blocks from Michigan Ave. only complaint: there is a market in the hotel lobby the prices are insane- $15 for chips and dip, AVOID this

Great hotel in very convenient location to restaurants and nightlife. Easy walk to many many things. Great hotel for the price in the right location

Excellent continental plus breakfast, well appointed room and very friendly staff.

From the room to the staff to the wonderful breakfast and warm, clean pool - great bargain in the heart of Chicago - close to everything. Valet parking was also very efficient and courteous. Highly recommend and would stay there again!

The Hotel is located in a prime location! You can park at the hotel parking and walk most places. The room was very nice and CLEAN! The breakfast was great! We ate so much even our kids weren't hungry until the afternoon! Our kids loved swimming in the indoor pool! We are telling all our family and friends to stay here when they come to Chicago! We will be staying here again!

My family (2 adults and 2 kids) squeezed into the executive suite. The pull out couch barely slept my 2 daughters (12 & 10) and when it was pulled out it left about 6 inches between it and the desk/work area and a foot between it and the TV. The bedroom was not a separate room as we were told by the hotel representative when I called to confirm my reservation. The only pluses for this hotel is it's location, it's very clean...it's only 4 months old and the free breakfast. I would look somewhere else to stay in downtown Chicago before I would stay here again. It was just too cramped for our liking.

Stayed 2 nights for our 25th Anniversary.....the accommodations couldn't have been better. The room, pool, breakfast, employees, all were great! You won't find a better value anywhere.

I travel frequently for work and stayed at many first-class chains. I have to hand it to Marriott for providing the most consistent experience. Every Marriott property I've stayed at has provided me outstanding service, a friendly, well-trained staff and clean, comfortable rooms. This was no exception. From the valet to the front desk to the cleaning staff - great attitude and service. This particular location was great. A few steps from the font door are the House of Blues, Sullivan's Steak House and Harry Caray's. Mother Hubbard's and the Rockit club are right there if you want a neighborhood bar. Magnificent Mile shopping is three blocks away. The only complaint was the sun deck adjacent to the pool. It sat there, tantalizing you but the doors were sealed shut.

Got a good rate. Room was nicely furnished but could have been a little cleaner. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Convenient to attractions, and transportation around city as well as within walking distance to many fine restaurants. Had to take to 2 different elevators to get to room. Hotel was located in great spot for our purposes, baseball weekend. Could get transportation to both baseball fields easily. Good restaurants and clubs within walking distance, buffet breakfast was a plus, pool too small, more like a bathtub decided not to use. Some staff more helpful than others. We had to call the desk to find out why the carpet was wet, the room smelled like a wet carpet, the windows were all open and the desk clerk told us it must have been shampooed. We asked for another room and were told hotel was full, but they offered us a $50.00 gift cert for a stay at another residence inn at another time. We just would have preferred another room. Other than that we were very happy with the stay for the price.

Recently spent 3 great nights here. The location is central to both the Loop and the Magnificent Mile. Could walk nearly everywhere. Close to a number of very nice restaurants, The 2 room suite was very comfortable and roomy, exceptionally clean and modern and quiet despite being at an intersection. Excellent and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good and sitting having coffee overlooking Chicagoans walking to work was a nice way to wake up. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for a Bulls-Pistons game! This Hotel is flawless as far as service and cleanliness! The service desk staff was very helpful and willing! Rooms were good size and very clean! Even the hotel maids smiled and said hi! There is much to do as we were right in the middle of mag.. mile. Lots of restaurants and shops!! With that said, Prices for parking are very steep!! $44 a night for velet parking! Transportation was quite steep too, you must catch the cab or take the bus to anywhere you don't want to walk to. Driving is just to diffulcult with all the traffic and pedestrians!

My wife and I came in from the 'burbs to enjoy the Blues Fest and the Sox game. This hotel is relatively new, and everything is in great shape. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good, and the room was well designed. AND, it was quiet! Will definitely be back again.

Having stayed in Chicago before, I was well aware that hotel rooms tend to be very expensive, and very small. This was neither. Our room rate was just over per night, and this room was closer to being an apartment than a hotel room. The room has a full kitchen, living room, seperate bedroom, and very large bathroom. I have stayed at Residence Inn's before, and was very pleased, but wasn't sure if being in downtown Chicago, if this would be as spacious as ones in other cities. Simple answer; yes, it is. This room was probably the bestvalue that I have ever seen from a hotel, all things considered. They also offer a free breakfast buffet, as well as snacks in the evening: a la chicken wings, etc. They have computers with high speed internet available for free use in the lobby. The pool is small, but there is a good reason for that; it is indoors, on the 27th floor. believe me when i tell you that swimming with that view is not to be missed. I could go on about this hotel, but the bottom line is, if you stay here, you will be extremely glad that you did.

The room was comfortable, but check in was not adequately staffed and the lobby gave the feeling of a busy bus station, with luggage laying around and people standing waiting for service. Also, the valet service, both checking in and out was very slow and somewhat disorganized.

great hotel at a great location. plenty of restaraunts and bars very close by. Could not be happier with the cleanliness. For the price you could not do better

Location and staff was top quality - loved it. The hotel and staff were simply great - from the doormen, registration, room service to restaurant staff. They rendered excellent service and as well as excellent attitudes. If could rate this whole experience at this Marriott Residence higher than 10 - I would.

Stayed on weekend of January 9, 2009. The room was clean, staff was super nice and professional. Check in was fast and so was check out and valet. Called the desk for extra toiletries, and towels and service was prompt. We had a king suite and the linens were just ok, but nice. Continental breakfast bar was ok too, above average, not the typical donuts and croissants. Waffle station, fruit, oatmeal. The eggs and sausage were kinda iffy looking. Overall the hotel is clean, the rooms were clean, and the staff was really nice. The price was also the lowest found for downtown Chi. and it's close to everything. There's a decent excercise room and pool upstairs, but it was too cold to swim. Great place to stay...
