First room smelt rather strongly of smoke but they moved us with minimal fuss and quickly.

Excellent evening spent there and good service. Was provided with a special gift as a returning guest which was unexpected but very well received. Room had a superb view and could not fault anything.

The Spencer on Byron Auckland in Takapuna Beach is a great location for visiting the Auckland area. Good bus transportation to the city and surrounding areas. We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen and living room area. The best thing was having a washer and dryer in the room. Fantastic views of downtown Auckland and Rangitoto Island. Room was very quiet. My only complaint is that the room needs higher quality mattresses and furniture needs updating.

Superb service, views and facilities, easy access and 'on-site' secure parking. Room was great would stay again on my next Auckland trip. Highly recommended, thank you all for a hassle free 2 night stay.

Room was great - spacious and clean. Good views from 15th floor. Very comfortable bed. Check in and check out quick, easy and friendly. Did not enjoy our experience in the restaurant - due mainly to the bad manners of large percentage of other guests, plus the hot food at the breakfast buffet could have been "hotter". Location good - easy to find.

Stunning views, beautifully appointed suite. My only reservations are the standard of the toiletries ( a 4 + 1/2 star hotel can surely do better), the robes were small and coarse and when I left my phone charger behind it took days to get it returned (and 4 visits back to reception)

No one at reception when we arrived, and unimpressive service when a staff member appeared. But otherwise a good place to stay, and a great view from our room.
