We've stayed at the southgate inn many times and have never experienced problems with the pet policy or condition of the rooms. It is close to the hospital that we use and have made friends w/ the staff and management over the past couple of years. If the person who wrote the review about his friend receiving "chigger" bites reads this then I suggest that his friend bathe more often.

Friendly staff, great breakfast room and clean rooms. Not hotels fault, but we had to cut our stay and weren't able to get refund. Hotel and breakfast fantastic.

Simplicity. Parking lot was dirty, seemed deserted. It was suitable for my needs.

Complimentary breakfast. Room carpet wasvery dirty; fabric chairs were stained. Okay for one night stop-over but I would not recommend for an extended stay. Bed was comfortable but room looked very old and unclean. Bathroom facilities not the best either.

The location was great - close to anywhere you`d need to go in Missoula. The front desk staff were very friendly, our room was incredibly clean, the location was perfect and very quiet. When we were in our room we could`t hear any outside noise or noise coming from any other guests rooms. They have a great continentalbreakfast from 6-11am so it`s great for people like me who arenot morning people but would still love a muffin in the morning. The next time we go back to Missoula we will stay here again.

Hotel was in a convenient location close to nearby mall. Staff was friendly at check out, but at check-in I didn't quite feel as welcome, which was disappointing having gotten lost and arriving at 4am. Nonetheless, the stay was pleasant enough.

The bathroom floor was heated. My friend got chigger bites while lying in the bed. Southgate is on the dumpy side and not well cleaned. That said, it is not visibly dirty in the room. After my friend got several chigger bites on the bed he had to sleep in the car. While the staff was nice and helpful.

We chose the hotel in part because they took pets. Room was dirty and smelly. When I checked in I declared a pet (dog), she changed my room assignment based on the dog. The room was really bad, soiled carpet, dirty bathroom, unknown condition of bedspread.

Only thing good was the breakfest selections. Kept awake most of night by party people until 4:30 in morning. Would not stay again,area filthy all around perimiter of building and stair cases. Needs a complete overhaul.
