The room was satisfactory. The Restaurantis an embarrassment to the hotel. Not a 4 start close to the airport. Is a 3 star at best and way out of the way.

Enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Room was very comfortable and roomy with good bed and large bathroom. The casino was clean and not overly crowded. Food was good and not over priced. Only problem was hotel location from the rest of Vegas. Was told a bus ran past hotel and could ride for $4 all day. In fact a bus did run by the hotel but it took 2 hours to get anywhere and you had to change buses someplace. With the distance out it was a $40 cab ride downtown and $25 to the strip. Hotel did provide shuttle to airport.

Outstanding hotel. Large beautifully decorated rooms with large bathrooms (toilet and tub/shower separate from the sink and vanity area). Three telephones (bedside, desk, and bathroom) with high speed internet in the room. Large flatscreen plasma TV. Also has a variety of excellent restaurants including the one of the best buffets in Las Vegas. The nicest rooms we have found in Las Vegas (and we have stayed in many Las Vegas hotels). Being at the far south end of town, it is away from the ever building carnival atmosphere of main part of the strip, which we really liked. We are definitely going to go back!!!

Attended AAU tournaments and a little slot play. The Happy Hours @Meguils was GREAT!! The movie, bowling.... what more could you ask for?

I reserved (and paid for) 3 rooms, 2 for 5 nights and 1 for 4 nights. When I arrived at 10:30 pm, I found that they had reserved only TWO rooms, 1 for 5 nights, 1 for 4 nights. The reservations staff, that night and for the entire next day, were defensive and unapologetic. The lines at the front desk were ALWAYS an hour long. I lost my entire first day dealing with this snafu. Even though I eventually got it straightened out, issues from this snafu continued to plague me for my entire stay. (Maids entered without knocking on the 2nd day because we were checking out, not being allowed to charge things to my room because I didn't have one, hotel holding over SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS on my debit card even though I had prepaid). And I NEVER got any sort of apology or compensation for my troubles. I have to say though, that other than the incompetent reservations group, the hotel and it's amenities are fabulous. A large variety of very nice restaurants, lot's of events, and many features that parent's traveling with kids to enjoy, including a bowling alley, arcade and even a movie theatre! If you are looking for a one-stop vacation getaway, this is an excellent choice.

I was amazed by the updated room for the lowest price I paid for each night. Its great for families or friends. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were great, the toiletries were excellent(Bath & Body). Nowadays, casino hotels don't have coffee pots in the room....this one does which i was shocked. With a flat screen tv and lots of space in the room I know my friends would enjoy staying here. The free shuttle bus brings you to Mandalay Bay which only took 10 min. or less. And the free shuttle pickup from the airport was so convenient as well. It is so convenient and is great if you don''t care to drive. I also LOVED the Spa, it is worth trying it out for the day. One thing i loved about it was the 24 hour fitness which u can use when convenient for you when your ready to workout. The movie theater, bowling alley, bingo was just a few added bonus that the hotel has to offer.

Great rate. Large Bathroom with separate area so someone can shower and others can use sink area. Lots of space. worse part, no view but not a big deal so much since we didn't stay in room that much.

As with all hotels connected with casinos, you get the miserable walk through the smoky casino to get from check-in to the hotel elevator.

For a 4 star hotel they did not offer many ammenities. Everything was extra. Internet hookup was 13.00. Gym was extra. There was only enough coffee in the room to serve 1 person. They did not tell us that if you needed to catch a shuttle to the airport that you had to do it a day in advance or you could not make a reservation. Every time I spoke to the front desk they acted like I was an annoance. In one of the restaraunts I requested an english muffin instead of toast, sorry can't do it was my answer. My daughter ask for a substitue of fruit instead of potatoes and toast , same answer. It seemed like no one that worked there was very happy to be there and it really showed in the service provided.

The hotel was great ! staff helpfull anytime of the day or night, rooms were confortable and clean, you would be crazy to stay anywhere else, you want to go to the strip for dinner your less tha 10 mins right down the freeway, and easy on and off access to the hotel, but if your looking for eating while you enjoy your stay eat right here because the resturants were first class. See you again SouthPoint!!!

We had a very nice time and would have liked to stay longer. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We went to the movies and watched the latest releases. We went bowling and the facilities were very good. The restaurants were all very good with great service.

Clean; close to airport; nice but not gaudy decor. Long long walk through casino and down hall to room. Clean, new looking; employees were friendly enough the couple of times we dealt with them.

This is the 9th or 10th time that I've stayed here at the South Point. This is not the place to see and be seen in Las Vegas, there are plenty of places for that. This is a great hotel if you don't mind being a little ways down the strip. I seldomly ever pay over $* for a room with a 42" flat screen TV, granite countertops and tasteful furnishings. The rooms are spotless and quiet. There is a great workout facility and pool. With all the amentities, you might never leave. Great Steak house, Prime Rib restaurant, and maybe the best restaurant in Vegas, Michaels, and the best breakfast buffet I've ever had (look for coupons for the 2 for 1 deal). Movie theater, bowling alley, etc. We even convinced one of our manufacturers to hold a sales meeting there. Great job on that too. Equestrians will know this hotel as it has the largest equestrian facility in the Wester US.

The staff was excelent. The rooms were fabulous. The only thing I could not get used to was the smoke. Is there such thing as a smoke free casino?

I really loved the size and look of the room. Lots of crowds (restaurants and bowling area), and far from the strip. The rooms are beautiful and a great size.

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms are nice & the cleaning service couldn't have been more kind & courteous. The food we had was excellent. The pizza we had for a snack in the Del Mar Deli was very good and quite large for the price $7 2 slices & drink. Our party of 4 agreed that all meals were very good. There is alot to do at this hotel. Pool is very nice. The building was designed that even though outside the hotel it was windy and cool - in the pool area - because of the height and reflection of the bldg - the temp was great for sunning - the pool is not heated. The pool is about the only thing at this hotel that you don't have to pay extra for... the spa & fitness center are nice - but you have to pay - $15 a day EACH to use them - kinda overpriced - but the overall price on the hotel was great... so maybe it all evens out - you pay only for the amenities you want to use. The slots were tight - none of us came out ahead... we didn't see anyone winning anything significant. Check in was horrendously long & at registration i asked about the spa & fitness center & they told me to check the info in the room. When i went to use the fitness center early in the day - i found I had to go clear back to the registration desk & BUY access. Also room keys deactivated mutiple times. Frustrating! Customer service needs improvement. Business center wanted $11 for use of internet and $1 page for printing boarding pass!! Hotel is only 4 miles from airport. Outlet shopping between airport & hotel.

I have found my new home for future Vegas trips. The room was great, especially the bathroom with separate dressing area, which allowed two of us to get ready at the same time. The spa is awesome, and the gym is the best I've seen at a hotel. They charge 15 for 24 hours of gym access, and it's worth it. For only 5 more, you get spa access for the day. The only glitch was check-out. I tried to use the Express Check-Out on the TV, and it said Express Check-Out was not available, and I had to check out at the front desk. Naturally, there was a huge line. When I asked why I couldn't use Express, I was told it was because they only get a pre-authorization of 100 on the credit card upon check-in, and my charges were over 100. I complained that this was unusual, and that I should still have been able to use Express Check-Out, since my credit limit is way more than the amount of charges incurred. She then told me I could have called the front desk and checked out by phone. The instructions on the TV did not include that option. Regarding other posts that indicate the hotel is far from the strip, if you have a car it is a non-issue. It took us 4 minutes to get to Mandalay Bay and 9 minutes to get all the way to the Sahara offramp.
