This is NOT a resort! We stayed several nights, but by the first evening I wanted to take my family and leave. The owners behaved like Gestapo, monitoring the miniscule property on little four-wheelers. It was absurd. There IS NO BEACH. There is a very steep area with filthy sand and rocks next to the lake that is infested with snakes. Yes, snakes! You couldn't possibly let a child play or swim there. The pool was nice, but everything else was not.

While we enjoyed the view South Beach had to offer, there are two negative aspects as well. The breakfast they offered, was very unsatisfactory, not much there, hardly any coffee or juices. Our friends stayed at a somewhat less expensive place and they were offered gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, waffles and many juices. The swimming pool is so far away from the hotel and bathroom access, I have trouble walking, it would've taken me a rather long time to make it back to the bathroom,they should offer golf carts or have one of the staff drive people there in their golf carts. I mentioned it to the hotel staff and they shrugged their shoulders. The room itself is very clean and comfortable,especailly the beds.

Location was great, hotel was clean and very nice place. We really liked it, would plan to visit again and recommend. We had a great stay, very friendly staff, clean rooms, the view and location was very pretty. Off the beaten path yet close to many attractions. It would be a great place to take kids.

We booked here on the strength of the description. Instead of a resort hotel, what we got is a four story Motel 6. The room has no refrigerator, no microwave. It does have a coffee pot. We drink tea, but there's none available. There's no resturant. The closest food is about five miles away. The breakfast is stale pastries and weak coffee, with cold cereal. The lakeside pool is OK, if you get there before all the screaming kids. The "heated" jacuzi is just one end of the pool. The in room jacuzi is OK, but don't use it after ten. The walls are so thin, we heard every conversation from the folks next door. We wanted to leave, and find a different hotel, but they refused to refund our unused nights. Accomodations were mediocre, at best. This is a hotel that is best for families with multiple small children, and very large budgets.

It had something for everyone in our group. The skunks. This was a great place for my family to spend a few days swimming, fishing and relaxing. Great for families. Needs a restaurant/bar on the grounds.

My husband and I first stayed on our five year anniversary. We go back every year. We have never stayed during the peak season, we always go in the off season. It is quite and it is a place were we can escape. The first year we stayed, we were the only guests in the hotel. Staff have always been friendly and the rooms have always been clean. We are planning our next trip for next month.

This was the off season so there were only 5 other reservations during our stay. We were surprised to be assigned a room next to another guest - especially since there were plenty of other rooms on the same floor with the same layout. The layout of the resort was great and the view was fantastic! The restaurant and the pools weren't open, but I highly recommend this resort and we will definitely be coming back!

It was on the lake. Hotel restaurant was closed, and there was nothing close by. Very clean, but nothing to do unless you drove 10 miles to take a ferry to the other side of the lake.

Room was nice. Bar and restaurant weren't open! Had to drive for food. I'd go again.
