Being a mature couple was hard to get to the 3rd floor with our luggage (87 steps). Be very specific at requesting a room on the first floor, since there is no elevator. Bathroom shower is very unconfortable to use since there is no support for it. Price quoted by Venere was higher than the one posted at the front desk.

What a great place to stay! It's away from St. Francis's basilica, so I loved the fact that we didn't have to deal with all the tourist/bus noise. I will stay here again!

Staff members were polite and helpful, rooms clean. The hotel is placed in the quiet but popular area - close to nice shops and restaurants. Assisi is really beautiful!

Since I don't have any Italian, I found it difficult to communicate with the staff at times but they were generally very tolerant of this deficiency. The best thing about the Hotel Sole was the location, 1 minute from Santa Chiara and my room had a lovely view over the valley. The friends I was travelling with even had a balcony with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the sunset! Unfortunately the food was very ordinary - although breakfast was acceptable, dinner was made up of mainly frozen foods! So walk up to the main square and you'll find lots of little restaurants in the streets radiating off it where the food is really good. And don't miss walking to San Damiano, it's worth the effort. So much to appreciate about Assisi but mainly just enjoy the peace.

This hotel was great for us. It is situated right downtown and everything is within walking distance. The staff was great. Any questions we had they answered. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the spagetti with truffles was one of the best I had. There was a generous amount of sliced truffles. Breakfast was plentyful too. Our room overlooked the street, but if you closed the window you couldn't hear any of the street noise. Very soundproof. We slept great here.

Very clean accommodation, centrally located for all that Assisi offers. The breakfast ,although adequate , was limited to cereals, croissants, jam ,bread, ham and cheese. The restaurant served exceptionally good meals with a wide choice at a very reasonable price with wines and beers at keen prices too especially compared to most other establishments in Italy. The surroundings were atmospheric and authentic.

Excellent location in the city, close to everything; small but clean room. Good ratio price/quality. However, the room was too noisy to be comfortable.

This is very nice hotel. Located in the center of the Assisi. Bathroom is shining and modern. Shower might not be suitable for large person, but I guess it is very typical for Italy. There is a noisy restaurant around the corner. Parking is 10 euros per night, 5 min walking. Breakfast is included and is very basic, I suggest to go across the street and get nice panini instead.

After having spent some nights in Firenze, it was a very good surprise to discover Assisi and this hotel. Beautiful, quite small city, and a fantastic price/quality hotel romm. We had one with small, lovely, balcony, right in the center of the town, for half the price of what we had in Firenze, and the room was better. Parking possibility in a coyered parking for 10 euro/day 10 min walk from the hotel. As usual you can enter in the city to deposit your luggages at the hotel. My only negative point was the breakfast, but it still keep a very positive impression on this hotel.

Lovely hotel with great location close to St. Chiara! Room was very comfortable and clean. We even had a lovely balcony in our room (with view to the street)! Hotel even has it's own restaurant... Highly recommended.

For a couple of nights stay this hotel is perfect. The position is on the main street close to the main piazza in the heart of Assisi. Our room was clean and pretty much what we would expect for the price. On arrival staff were very helpful. Restaurant looked good although we didn't have opportunity to try it. Would recommend and revisit.

Great location inside the city walls. 2 minute walk to the plaza. Room # 12 has a small balcony with table and chairs overlooking the city. Room and common areas very clean. Nothing fancy but a bargain for the price.

One of the best 2 star hotels I have stayed in Italy. The only thing is about the location on one of the main streets... a bit noisy.
