I would like to say that i am writing from the El Nakuti resorts 1 computer at the moment, so my comments are up to date! this resort is a dump. the moment you drive up..i was like..oh god hope im not staying in there..but the bus turned in. the set up of the location reminds me of summer camp...little huts here and there..which 200 of the 800 are functional. so i thought to myself..okay..ill just get drunk to forget where i am...but nope...the bar closes at 10PM... there is NO nightlife..just some 1960s oldies music during dinner time, which consists of around 20 tables..so you must fight for one..and a buffet which will be the same EVERYDAY...and thats a bad thing. the landscape here consists of not grass but mostly weeds with a few grass buds. Their so called beachfront...is a beach which not even locals swim in..not because they aren't aloud(considering there is a local beach right beside it). the beach has huge rocks in it..like construction boulders almost, and trash all over it. there is no chairs laid out on the beach like resorts should..you must drag one of the 30 chairs down, which are cheaper chairs then walmart. the entire resort looked like it was intended to be nice...but ran out of money half way..so paint is chipped off, stained walls, etc etc. even the front gate..where you get your first impression is garded by a chain..not a gate..a chain. my house in canada has a better front view then this..and im middle class. furthermore, there are no alarm clocks in the rooms, you must ask for a wakeup call which might come...i almost missed a $300 dollar excursion one morning at 5am. luckily friends we made on the bus down the the resort called our room. there is no room service. and all inclusive...is really scheduled eating and drinking. it felt like i was at a summer camp with the YMCA..except 10 times worse..but i paid way more then i should have...i wouldn't stay here again if someone paid me. the pool might look nice in the pictures, but it is crappy, filled with bugs and leaves and such..and the hot tub at the middle does not work. the rooms on the other hand are very spacious with surprisingly large tile showers. very uncomfortable beds though..which the maids don't change the sheets to..only when you leave the resort do they wash the sheets instead of airing them out. but at the end of the day..all inclusive in costa rica.
