THE WHOLE PLACE IS JUST AMAZING. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER HOTEL IN CHICAGO EVER AGAIN. THE STAFF WAS THE BEST, AND SO NICE! THE RESTAURANT IS NICE BUT MAYBE A TAD BIT OVERPRICED FOR THE SERVING SIZE BUT THE FOOD IS RATHER TASTY (I just tried the desserts though). THE AREA AROUND THE HOTEL IS AMAZING TOO.

This was the best hotel I've stayed at in Chicago and I'm very picky. It's very clean and the staff was outstanding. If I've got to come up with a criticism, the well-stocked bathrooms are large but the bedroom area is a little on the smaller size - like most in large cities. The beds are great. There is no pool but if you're there on business or shopping, this is the place to be!

I have detracted my wife from visiting Chicago for ten years and this year I decided to surprise her for her birthday with a trip to Chicago. I decided on Sofitel after reading many positive reviews of the hotel. From the first minute encounter with the Doorman all the way to the Room Delivery we received the hotel went above and beyond expectations. Very friendly staff and more than willing to go the "extra mile" to make your trip special. After checking in and finding out it was my wife's birthday, 30 minutes later we had a knock on our door with a complimentary birthday cake and two bottles of water. The overall impression left us with any future trips being directed with the Sofitel Hotel.

We arrived to Chicago at 8:30 AM and went to the hotel. The room was not ready, but they held our bags and called us at 11:45 to let us check in (way before 3). So nice and professional. Our bags were out of the cab b4 we even paid the driver. If in Chicago STAY HERE!"

We took advantage of the hotel and it's services. We sampled the drinks and eats in the lounge while viewing the hussle of Chicago going by. We entertained a client in the restaurant, in which the staff was superb, friendly and informative on the food and wine being offered. We were asked at each entrance to the main lobby area if any staff could be of help. This may be the best service I have received at a hotel.

From the moment we arrived the service was outstading! The valet service was quick and efficient. Our suitcases arrived within 5 minutes of checking into the room. The person even when up a flight of stairs to fill our ice bucket.

We spent four nights at the Sofitel Water Tower during a vacation visit to Chicago. The room was excellent!! Very comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, plenty of closet and dresser space, and nice touches. The hotel is beautiful . . . great architecture, luxurious furnishings, fantastic flowers, super restaurant and bar . . . everything was perfect!! Yes, we would stay there again!!

Top of the line four star. Great architecture and extremely attractive and functional rooms. Good bath and excellant flat screen HD television. Also, ideal location: near shopping and dining but with residential feel. Resturant is very nice.

I do not if all the rooms were the same size but for a delux room it was a small room. overall services were good and we were happy with it.

"Just stayed there 2/3/07. Was looking for a fun, contemporary hotel and it didn't deliver. The lobby was nice, and the rooms were mostly clean, but it really wasn't special. Service time was slow for room requests, found empty waterbottles under the chair, and the alarm was set for 7:30 am, which we of course didn't find out until it was 7 am. "

Every time that you walk up to the door, there is someone holding it for you. The rooms are beautiful and pristine. The staff was a little stuffy, but did their job very, very well. Great experience. Would totally stay here again!

The hotel location was phenomenal close to everything!!! Upon arrival I was less than impressed with the accomodations as this hotel was highly rated and I guess you can say that I had extraordinarily high expectations. The room size was ok and other than not having a good vacuum, it seemed clean. My main concern was on a personal note. I had the misfortune of becoming ill while in the room. The hotel referred me to the in house doctor who charged me $450 to give me a diagnosis of conjunctivitis because I had red itchy eyes. When my condition failed to improve I called down to the front desk and asked if the bedding might contain any allergens at which point I was told everything in the bed was down, including pillows, mattress pad and duvet/comforter. Additionally, this hotel allows pets and upon closer inspection of the carpets I found large pet hairs throughout my room. Needless to say I was experiencing a terrible allergic reaction. I requested to have my bed swapped out for a hypoallergenic bedding and they agreed to switch my room. Once in the new hypoallergenic room, all blotchy skin and itchy watery eyes dissappeared. I was later told by another traveller that the Walgreens down the road had a 24hr walk in clinic which would have charged about $50 for a visit. The hotel did not pick up the tab for the doctor but did upgrade my room. Overall I was not impressed.
