The neighborhood is frequently referred to as the “Paris end” of Collins Street due to its many excellent shopping, dining and theater locations, but the address is also an excellent and centralized area for business travelers as well.

Very good large 5 star hotel and in a fantastic location. What it lacks in charm is made up for with excellent rooms and facilities. Paying extra for the Sofitel club is worth it if you want a few drinks and some reasonable snacks before heading out. The drinks available are of a good standard. You can also use the lounge until 1700 on the day of check-out which is nice if you aren't leaving town until later in the day. Please note alcohol is not served in the lounge until 1730.

everything was pretty good especially the entertainment facilities but no tooth brushes or toothpaste was quite disppointing

Great place to stay when clubbing in Melbourne.hotel restaurant closed til now but go to atrium. highly recommended. bed comfy too. will be back!!

We stayed on the 49th floor, just below the 50th floor penthouse - and we were glad we did! Even though the room's door was thick and heavy, we could just hear the music and noise rising from the 35th floor Atrium with its bar and restaurants. I think guests staying on the 36th-45th floor would have difficulty getting to sleep, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night due to the noise. However, some might not want to! We asked for a South facing room with spectacular views over the bay, rather than one facing inland.

Club Sofitel was a very comfy spot to relax on the 34th floor. Breakfast, afternoon tea, evening drinks & canapes were very generous, & the gas/log fire very impressive

We had a fantastic stay and were very sad to leave. The staff were very kind in acknowledging our wedding anniversary, leaving a card, chocolates and champagne in our room. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation. My only complaint was having to pay for valet parking - I think this should be included in the room price. having said this, the hotel minded our bags for us upon check-out so that we could do some Christmas shopping which would have saved us the cost of parking elsewhere. i cannot wait to return!

Amazing! Best service I have experienced in any hotel I've stayed in throughout the world. Had a corner suite overlooking the city and bay. Huge suite. Great, comfortable sofitel beds. Touchscreen panels controlling lighting moods, radio, tv, etc... very modern, but extremely comfortable. This is the only hotel I will stay in whilst in Melbourne now. Hoping that other sofitels around the world are just as good as am off to stay in 4 more of them in the next couple of months!
