Great location near many shopping options, including fantastic mall directly across the street. Within walking distance of pretty, tree-lined neighborhoods for safe walking excursions. Excellent restaurants nearby, including locals' hangout, "Dominick's," for tasty Italian. Will definately stay here again on my next trip to LA.

Great location, wonderful staff/service, newly refurbished. Public spaces rather dark and dimly lit. Member of the Sofitel chain, long term location. Needed refurbishing and recently was totally redecorated top to bottom. Friendly/welcoming to everyone, including families, pets. Great valet service.

Beautiful hotel, with very nice service. We had a penthouse floor room with a huge terrace overlooking Beverly Center. Only slight downside: No coffee maker in a room (I am a big coffee drinker) but Starbucks is right down the street. They offer valet parking for $29 a day, internet access is 9.95 for 24hrs. Overall a great hotel. Would definately stay here again.

Stayed at Sofitel Los Angels for 2 nights during March Break. The 4 of us had 2 SoFab suites (each suite is 850-sq.ft. big). The spacious room and upscale amenities made our stay so wonderful we just didn't want to leave. The newly renovated bathroom was amazing with a big patterned glass window that looks out to the bedroom & you can watch TV while taking a shower, or you can turn on a switch and the glass will become frosted so it's not transparent any more. The shower stall had a hand-held shower or you could use the less powerful but nice big round ceiling shower. The 2 suites had different lay-outs & one spacious bathroom had 4 shower heads so a couple can easily and comfortably take a shower at the same time. Valet parking was great and we never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for our car. Overnight parking was 29 per day but there were always at least 2 people around you and at your service. They did make us feel like Royalties. Opposite the hotel near the gas station there was a DASH bus to Hollywood Blvd (Kodak Theatre, Mann's (Grauman's) Theatre) and each journey was 25 cents (10 cents for senior). When we arrived at Kodak Theatre we found out that we could park the car there for 4 hours for 2 only as long as we bought something from the Theatre shops (even a coffee would do). I didn't recall reading about the cheap parking from other travellers, otherwise we would have taken our car there so my parents didn't need to wait for the bus that ran every 15-20 minutes. Sign up online to eat at Todai Japanese Buffet (5 off) in Beverly Centre opposite the hotel. It's yummy!

I had a perfectly lovely stay at the Sofitel. My room was spotless and comfortable, great bathroom, fantastic service, convenient location. Wouldn't have changed a thing, except that the traffic outside was loud even though I was on the 9th floor. Nothing the hotel could do about that, though. I highly recommend the Sofitel LA.

From the moment we drove up the service at this hotel was excellent. Check in was efficient and quick. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was terrific. We were treated like royalty. The staff was extremely accomodating.

Great location, within walking distance to cafes and shops on Robertson, Melrose and 3rd St. Staff was very professional and helpful. Ask for rooms facing the "hill" not the street if you can. They are very quiet, while the street facing Beverly Ctr is quite busy. If you're looking for a great pool, this is not it. Very small and not much space for lounge chairs, the hotel only has 10, which were typically taken. But everything else was great.

The entire experience was flawless! Nothing. The front desk staff met me at the front door and their excellent service continued throughout my stay. My room was extremely comfortable. Room service was speedy and the food was very good.

Stayed three nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and amenities were both top notch -- very much enjoyed the walk-in shower with window; hand held ( tip: it could have had a wall mount so you can take a hands free shower without the overhead nozzle ) and overhead shower. Enormous towels. Excellent radio / tv / computer set up. The only negative to my review would be the bed linen -- call me a peasant but I'm not into all enveloping down comforters. Also, memorize where the elevator bank is because in all the stylish black decor it sometimes vanishes. Be sure to sit in the Kennedy half-dollar lobby chair.

This is a great hotel, most of the time. Some of the desk clerks need to grow up. That desk is the wrong time and place for cruel jokes after a long flight. My room got changed because of the plumbing system. The toilet replacement in the previous room didn't help. Other than those uncharacteristic problems, the hotel was great.

This was my second trip. The first trip last year was great. Since then, however, the general ambiance has declined. I was given a room on the 4th floor above the front entrance. Not a good location. At about 10:45 p.m. I was awoken by the driving bass of the disco lounge right on the ground floor. That's the Stone Rose. It was a huge party and loud. So I called the front desk and they moved me to a different room on the 5th floor and away from the Stone Rose. I still could hear it but it was passable with ear plugs. I think they really need to have a heart to heart with themselves to decide whether they're a hotel or a disco. Clearly from the front desk staff's reaction my own experience is a common one.

You can't beat the location. Easy access to Sunset, Hollywood and Santa Monica Blvd. Also, a supermarket is a quick drive and a drug store is in walking distance not to mention the mall across the street. Our first room was very small and not what we expected for $300 a night but the real problem was that the bathroom door didn't close all the way so you had little privacy. Also, our view was the mall parking lot. We complained a little and were able to get another room (many thanks to Elmer and the staff) the same day. The next day, we were offered another room - bigger and with a view of the Hollywood Hills. Since we were staying for 4 days that was really nice. We still don't get why the bathroom doors (they are sliding doors) don't close tightly - maybe it's more for singles than families. The rest of our stay was great. The only other complaint would be that the only refrigerator is the stocked one so there is no room for anything else. No coffee maker in the room but they do offer free coffee in the lobby. If you rent a car which you almost have to in LA, and you go in and out a lot, you'll spend lots in tipping the valet guys and like most hotels now there is that annoying $29 per night parking charge. I suppose you could park somewhere on the streets behind the hotel but there are fences and other obstacles so I don't think it's worth it. Because of the close proximity to a major hospital, you will hear sirens periodically during the day and night but it really didn't bother us. Room service is expensive - $30 for a personal size pizza and a bowl of soup which was not very good. The lounge was lively and a celeb or two might have been seen but in LA you can't tell if it's really them or someone trying to look like one :-) Overall, I would definitely stay there again because of the location and the staff. If you have kids and don't plan on renting a car then this is not the place though. But, if you want to jump in the car, head up to the Griddle Cafe on Suns

The staff was friendly, helpful, caring and informative. The pool was too small and not enough chairs. This was great and the staff did everything they could to make our stay terrific.

Absolutely fantastic. The only draw back was the hotle room was a little on the small side. What the heck, i'm not in LA to stay in the room. I would definitely return. Thumbs Up. Loved the mall across the street.
