Cool & UniqueHotel So had a nice, young feel to it and was easy to find because of the brightly coloured balconies. The hotel lobby and bar/cafe area were nice and we enjoyed a great breakfast there. The rooms are best suited to couples or singles, it doesn't really seem like a family area and the mood lighting/entertainment system, in-room bathroom (frosted glass not overly private) and the way the bed occupies most of the room seem to lend themselves to short stays. As I stayed in a couple it was fine, but the rooms can seem a bit claustrophobic even for a double.Still, it was a very unique and fun experience and the beds are definitely the most comfortable around!!!

Once again really enjoyed my stay. Staff all very friendly and whilst the rooms are small, and not for everybody, they are very comfortable and serve the purpose more than adequately. Place has a good vibe.

Room was very small but we knew that when we booked. Lighting was very quirky and pretty cool. Staff allowed us to extend our check out by 1.5hrs as we had an afternoon flight which was good but we still needed somewhere to leave our cases for a few hours. We were allowed to leave them in the lounge area which was OK but would have preferred a secure area. Overall a good place to stay though - very central.

The new design concepts are all first rate, except for bed placement against the window in our room.

The hotel is centrally located which was fantastic to explore Christchurch on foot. The room was compact but provided everything we needed, was a different experience. Thoroughly enjoyed Hotel So. The bed was incredibly comfy!! Free internet access was a bonus! The hotel bar was great with very reasonable prices - was surprised for a hotel.

I think that Hotel So is the perfect place to stay when in Christchurch. Great location, fab staff, awesome gym. Really ex having kitchen to heat food and super rooms comfortable and niffty.

We found that Hotel So offered us just what we wanted in that it was close to the city square and to the shop, restuarants. We would of liked to of been able to store our luggage for the day before heading away but unfortunately they didnt offer secured holdings. This is something that we would of paid for in a service. People were very friendly and helpful

First up, the rooms are small - like a cruise ship. Some of rooms are internal - so windowless. But if you're OK with that (as I was), then this is a superb hotel. I was traveling with a friend and it worked out cheaper to get 2 rooms here than a double room elsewhere. The gadgets in the room were great (various settings of "mood lighting") and the staff were genuinely nice. My traveling companion had an external room which faced the pub next door which was noisey until 5:00am. Front Desk said they were installing soundproofing soon - but I'd otherwise recommend an internal room for now.

10 out of 10 for facilities both in the rooom and in the hotel. Anyone looking for the latest in "room technology" would not be disappointed and its worth a stay if only for the novelty value. Very clean and comfortable - perfect for staying for a night or two if not spending much time in the room. However, I would think twice about staying there longer than a couple of nights as I began to find it claustrophobic - though there was a window it had no view at all.

Excellent stay again. Whilst small the rooms are very comfortable and have character! Food in cafe excellent, as is the service. Will definately be back.

A very interesting and relaxing experience. Fantastic food in the cafe. Would definitely stay again ; highly recommended.

You must pay 15.00 extra for room service every day, it is not included in the room price. You must also pay an extra 50.00 for each day of stay, upfront on your credit card which will be released at the end of your stay. ie 10 days is 500.00. The room is very small and has no where to hang more than two items. All the beds I was able to view are against the wall so I do not recommend these rooms for more than 1 person and for a stay over a couple days. They did not have available the tv stations they advertised.

Clean, tidy and modern, and TINY. As in imagine sleeping in a small conference room. With no windows.

Really enjoyed my stay. Probably not for everyone due to size of rooms but I found it very comfortable, great facilities, free Broadband, nice cafe, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the rooms refreshing and a good size for two adults. (Queen Size room) As a Lighting designer I found the use of LED and colour refreshing, the lighting levels and versatility were superb, a pity more places didn't pay the same amount of attention (we oldies need more light) The only negative point would be the Saturday and strangely enough Sunday nights loud Music from nearby establishments which is understandable being an inner city location. Inner building noise was very limited and more than acceptable. I suspect the sound proofing covering windows on the Manchester street side of the building wasn't sufficient and this is where the music seemed to originate. Maybe Jessie Ryder broke more windows than those at the stock exchange. All and all a good time was had and we are booked in again to visit family for Christmas 2009

Fantastic location, found the staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside to my second stay was the room wasn't as functionally as good as the previous stay 10 days earlier

Great funky room and hotel location, spent hours playing with the mood lighting and loved being able to use the free internet wireless with my laptop, saved me so much time when accessing from my room.

Rooms are small but serviceable. Prices are very good (affordable) and the location is terrific. Overall, it's a great value.
