The Sleep Inn Urbandale has a great location right off I-35, biggert ahn expected rooms & polit, helpfull staff. The indoor pool & hot tub made for a very relaxing end of a lobg travel day. The hot breakfast was a great start for another long "day-in-the-saddle.

Nothing See below We requested and paid for a non-smoking room and got a smoke filled room instead (even though the sign on the door said non-smoking)! When we first entered the room, the smoke was so thick we could hardly breathe. When my wife called down to the front desk to request a room change, the response from the hotel clerk (josh) was that the hotel was filled to capacity and the best they could do was offer us "fares" to help eliminate the smoke. Are you kidding! Smoke gets embedded into everything and fares will do nothing to help the situation. So twenty four hours later when we could not stand it any more and were "practically coughing up a lung" from the smoke, I had to escalate the situation to the hotel manager. He finally provided us with an alternate room (which although was much less smoky still had traces of smoke in certain areas of the room. And additionally the drain in the shower tub reeked horribly).

We stayed one night in this hotel. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. We definitely got our money's worth. The rooms were about * dollars cheaper than other hotels in the same area along I-35. The continental breakfast was a little bit disappointing. It did not include many items (just the basics).

The Hotel was within walking distance to the Living history Farms which is a must see. Also right next to an excellent resturant 'The Machine Shed. The drawback would be it was crowed so the pool was crowed and breakfast in the morning was very crowed. Also it is close to the highway so there was a lot of traffic noise.

The location was very easy to get into. I enjoyed the night I stayed in this Sleep Inn. We may stay at this hotel again due to its proximity to attractions in Des Moines.

The Sleep Inn at Urbandale was a great disappointment and I will never stay there again. We had driven 12 hours from out west when we checked in at 10PM. When we arrived, the receptionist was quite friendly. We then went to our room only to find the sink was inoperative as we could not keep the stopper open and had to keep it pried open with a metal tube so that the water could drain. Shortly thereafter, we received another call from the receptionist stating that they had just reissued our room to another person and she was on her way up and to please tell her to return to the lobby. The next morning, at approx 5:30am, we received a wake up call from the front desk. We had never asked for one. (I think the lady who was additionally assigned to our room had requested one and they forgot to change the room number.

Nice pool/hot tub, location, restaurant next door. Cleanliness, noise, lounge-none! Not very clean, mold in shower, sunflower seeds on floor. Asked for non-smoking, got a smoking, no other choice, they were booked up. All my clothes smelled like smoke after we left, and even slept with windows open (too noisy to really do that, but had to) and air on! Said there was lounge, couldn't find it if there was.

We booked and paid for two rooms. When we went to check in they only had ONE room available. That really made for a mess in our travel plans.

The Sleep Inn in Urbandale, has very friendly staff, nice room, and quality amenities. While the A/C control was difficult to figure out and unique for hotel stays that I have experienced, the features in the room were quite nice. The best feature of the amenities is that they have and inforce an Adult Quality Time in the pool and hot tub.

Very clean, bright, attractive. Spacious room, beyond my expectation. Not nearly enough room for the breakfast area - tiny for property size. Conveniently located with family attractions nearby, and with surprisingly quiet and spacious rooms, the Sleep Inn is well maintained, bright and cheery - a pleasant surprise for the business traveler!

Location - near interstate, restaurant & shopping mall. Could have had a tub/shower in the bathroom; only had a shower. The room was very clean and nice with plenty of room; nice pool and hot tub area; good breakfast.
