The beds were great, we were well rested in the morning. Indoor pool was nice, alittle cold for me but nice.

Little or no services offered. Business center was an old PC in the corridor and the fitness center was a vacant room with a broken exercise bike.

We found the Sleep Inn in Kannapolis to be in a very convenient area, the rooms were clean, large and very comfortable. The separate vanity area was very convenient, as was the space for hanging clothes. The one complaint was the indoor heated pool - the room may have been heated, but the water was not. We had been looking forward to a swim, but the water temperature was not conducive to that, which was very disappointing. We arrived on a Thursday. By Saturday the hotel was apparently hosting Little League baseball players. They were everywhere in the hotel - in the hallways, on the internet computer provided for guests, and in the pool. There did not appear to be any adult supervision. This was not the fault of the hotel, of course, but in consideration of the other guests, something should have been said.

It was late and I stopped at the Sleep Inn, hoping for sleep. I was desperate and paid for it. There was only one employee for a nearly filled facility.I first went to the front desk because the phone in my room was broken. I was told that another would be brought up soon. Soon afterwards, I called the front desk, using my cell phone, explaining that there were no ashtrays in my smoking room. I was told that I could pick one up when I picked up the phone. While not quite believing that I was required to do this, I walked the 3 flights of stairs to get the phone. I was informed that there were no ashtrays because guest steal them. (I had to smile when I heard the clerk respond to the guest who called with an obvious problem, that they could come down and get a plunger.)I walked back up the 3 flights (the elevator was slow and somewhat frightening), plugged the phone in and used a plastic cup filled with water as an ashtray.Breakfast the next morning was nice, but the OJ tasted like it does when you don't shake it.I called the next day to complain that the highest rate was charged for the room and yet the service was terrible. There was an advertisement in the room stating 100% satisfaction or room free. I didn't ask for a free room, but felt that the initial offer of 10 off, from the assistant manager, was disgraceful. I did get a decent percentage off, but not without being treated as if I was making a big deal out of nothing.Oh, and the bathroom amenities consisted of shampoo and soap. Not even a plastic cup.

We spent the weekend to participate in the Autism Speaks Charlotte Walk that was taking place at Lowe's Motor Speedway. We had family and friends from Michigan, Illinois and Tennessee that came and helped support our grandson Logan. The staff was friendly, helpful and made the experience very nice. We chose your hotel for a couple of main reasons, 1) being close to Lowe's and 2) having the pool for the children. (5 total kids) The only downside to the stay, was the small breakfast area, as all of us could not gather and enjoy the complimentary breakfast together. Next year when the Autism Walk once again takes center stage, we hope to join other guests coming to participate and enjoy another weekend get-away.
