Walking to the hotel we noticed the color on the outside seemed very dull and old. I assumed it was a "pay by the hour" or one night stand kind of hotel from the outside. In the hotel we noticed a weird smell. (Play pin). That was the first turn off, then we didn't have wireless internet in our room, but a broadband wire that never worked. Our door barely closed completely and they didn't have continetal breakfast either. $113 + $15 for parking makes me want my money back.

The shower. The noise. The hotel wasn't bad but the AC didn't work very well and I could hear the street below all night. The price wasn't very good, afterI got there I found other hotels for less.

Fairly easy to find, plus if you're lucky you can park your car where you can see if from your room. Thought charging for the parking was excessive, since it was right there (not a nearby garage or lot). You go down & under to check in; after dark is kind of creepy (too dark in area under the drive-through where you enter. Walking in the doors was hit with a pine scent that seemed pleasant, but by the time I got to check in (one person at the desk) the smell was giving me a migraine. Front desk was helpful but made me feel like my car was going to be towed while checking in because I didn't have one of their parking permits on the dash. Nobody needs that kind of anxiety! Room itself was good; tiny bathroom. I liked the shampoo & conditioner in dispensers. Linens had that migraine-inducing piney smell. Good bed, though, firm but not hard. Couldn't get the window to open at all. No wifi in rooms, but there was a cable hook-up to the internet that was plenty fast. Good cable tv channels. Room service menu seemed pricey for the locale. I walked to Pike Market but it took a few minutes to do so. Not a lot of places to go visit nearby the hotel. I was worried that street noise would be an issue, but surprisingly it was not. The coke machines were frustrating with their theft-deterrent devices. Almost impossible to feed bills into the thing (took over five minutes). Really, not totally awful, but I needed to be closer in, and the smell..that faux pine smell will keep me from ever considering them again.

The place is much in need of refurbishing, and that may not be enough. The first room they gave us smelled like stale urine. The second was almost as good as one of the cheap chains. We would have left, but arrived too late in the day. Bed was uncomfortable, air conditioner noisy and not too effective. Fitness room was a total joke. A couple of tired-looking machines. I have a hard time believing that this is a starwood hotel.

The hotel WAS located close to things like the Space Needle. Other than that it was horrible. Tired after driving 5 hours and tried to check in at 2:00 pm, told "no, not until 4:00pm". Staff was more interested in Michael Jackson's death. Upon walking in the door the one elevator didn't work and the other one kept getting stuck. The hot water never worked so cold showers for all of us. It was noisy all through the night, not to mention the flashing blue lights from the strip club right across the street. The beds were uncomfortable and the room small. If being dowtown Seattle is necessary for your stay, pay the extra money and do NOT stay at the Sixth Ave. Inn.

This hotel is terribly outdated and uncomfortable. I was only there for one night and I wouldn't stay there again. It was somewhat dingy though it didn't seem unclean.

The location is amazing and that is why we paid over $125 a night to stay in this 3 star... average hotel. 5 minute walk to Pike Place Market and 15 minutes to Capital Hill. Lots of restaurants and bars around. Plenty of parking available outside in lot for $15 a night. Entrance has a small, uninviting lobby. The staff don't go above and beyond. The rooms are fairly clean and well stocked with toilet paper and towels. The beds are comfortable and made neatly. The sheets feel clean and fresh. The pillows are fluffed. The built in restaurant on the 2nd floor is open until 11PM, has friendly staff, decent food but pricey. Management is poor. There was a car parked in the adjacent lot with its car alarm going off from 6pm to 11pm. The 21 year old manager didn't offer switching the rooms of the people facing this unbearable loud noise. We had no choice but to leave our room until the noise was taken care of. By the time we returned the broken car with the expired parking ticket was still there but the noise was silenced& until 4 am that morning. The manager was dumbfounded when we mentioned this to him in the morning. He had no idea because he left at 11PM that night and didn't bother to check up on his customers until the morning check out. He didn't apologize or give us another reason to come back to this mess of a hotel. The least he could have done was to give us a discount& Maybe he should take some management classes at the local community college.

the bathroom wall had a hole in it , as did some of the towels.need more handicap rooms, and there are only 2 handicap parking spots, the other parking spots are so close together unloading passengers is a must before parking or you can't get out of the car.with the parking fees and tax,it should not be so inconvient.the food is good, but nothing is offered for the smaller appetite, leftovers must be thrown away-no microwave, no fridge.i requested directions at the front desk, he was so concerned with the next person ,he handed me the mapquest without the location we were looking for , just got lost! the phone charges are awful even if you pay with a card,or just make a local call.this hotel is not worth the cost and we will never stay again

15 min walk to safeco, 2 min to the needle and 5 min from pike place market and all shopping. Good for just sleep and leave, rooms are dirty, not kept up and old looking. More like a college dorm.

Pleasant, knowledgeable staff, convenient transit access, and excellent access to downtown. There were few to no vegetarian options for the meals offered in the hotel restaurant. While it is definitely an older hotel with dated decor, this hotel is definitely worth staying at. While the decor may be a bit dingy, it is only because of its age, the rooms and public areas are clean and housekeeping is efficient and thorough. The staff are responsive and professional. The location is great! Easy access to downtown, Pike Place Market, and the Pacific Place Mall. Easy walk to tram that takes you to Seattle Center (Space Needle, Experience Music Project Museum, and Pacific Science Center).

The "in was a shabby motel on a busy street with few amenities around it. It was in the process of being renovated, which made it difficulty for me to navigate the lobby. Parking was extra, but should have been included for the price. the bathroom was very small with no place to leave toiletry bags. it was just a nothing of a place. (By contrast, i subsequently stayed at a lovely Marriott Courtyard in Palo Alto, with a large comfortable Lobby, with free coffe and apples, alovely pool and parking, including underground facilities for much less.

My only complaint is acoustics. Old design next to street traffic. Bourbon and benadryl will drown out anything. The price was great and 2 blocks from monorail and bus tunnel. 1 block from Top Pot for coffeee and donuts in am and 1 block from Hotel Max happy hour!!

It is very near downtown Seattle and Seattle center. Great location. Dirty spots on bed sheets. Elevator is slow and room is not very clean, but location is great.
