We just needed a quick getaway and this was a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and quiet. At check in, we were accommodated with a room with a fireplace. The hotel was located close to little shops and good restaurants. We will consider staying here again next time we need to getaway for the night.

The room was clean but could have used some air freshners. It smelled old...but other than that, it was nice. I would not stay more than a day or two here, but one night was fine.

The room looked newly painted and the bathroom tub and fixtures looked brand new. The king sized bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The atmosphere was casual and inviting. The down side was that there were zero annemities. There was not a resturuant on site nor did they offer a complementary breakfast. While there was a very pretty area out front to sit if you wanted to, there was not a swimming pool, exercise room, etc. There was a spa but it was not open. All in all, it is a quaint motel and we enjoyed our stay.

Fireplace in room was a nice touch. Very cozy room. The beds were very hard, like sleeping on concrete & the sheets still had hair imbedded. The parking here is very limited and hard to get in and out. The only place I've ever stayed that had colored towels. The only reason I stayed here a second time is because all other hotels were booked.

We enjoyed that the bathroom was a sep extension and that the sink was separate. we also liked that they used large towels for the bathroom. we used the coffeemaker, the microwave and the fridge and all three were very clean. I told the manager we would stay there again if we skieed again at ski apache.One day i walked into town and shopped while my family was skiing so that worked out great.

The Sitzmark Chalet has a very cozy and cute Alpine atmosphere and decor. Our room was large, neat, and well maintained. The shower has new fixtures and the shower head accommodates tall people. The vanity could be improved by providing a rack for hand towels and face cloths. The towels are soft, plush, absorbent, and are in a variety of warm colors instead of the standard white towels offered by many other lodgings. We didn't like the mattresses and pillows, which are very firm and prevented us from having a really good nights sleep. The Sitzmark Chalet is located in central Ruidoso and is close to shopping, restaurants, and within driving distance of other attractions such as Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino, Inn Of The Mountain Gods Hotel and Casino, area ski resorts, golf courses, and other local attractions.
