We've been going for years because we love the people and the culture. We're not into the tailor''d tourist experience. The occamodations are wlecoming and the bacony's are where we start and end our day. If you want freedom to explore and are adventurous and love the Jamaican hospitality, and don't come in expecting to be pampered but welcomed as yourself. This is the place to go ...... get to know the people thats why we stay there ... then you will get to know jamniaca. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I have stay at this hotel at least 4 times in the lat 2 years, My check in at the front desk was very friendly and nice , staff were very helpful at the hotel . Rooms were very large and balony with oceanfront is a beatiful view. The food in the hotel was good not to many choice on the menu but price were not bad. I love the location of the hotel it's in the heart of Main Street where you can listening to music / dance and have some fish or jerk chicken on the grill, for less than $5 U.S.A. and a bottle of Red Stripe I'm the happiest woman in Jamaica hanging out with native's.

The beds were old and dirty and sunken in. There was dust under the bed about an inch thick. The hotel needs a serious make over. I love the people and the cab drivers. They were very friendly and made you feel safe. The food was fantastic but not much for your money. Its location is perfect, not far from shopping or venturing out to get more food. Every room had the same decor and that was terrible. The tv only picked up like 4 channels. But the people made it all worth while. The rooms Id advise bring your own sheets definately!!! And Your own towels and Pillows !!!!!

Have stayed here a few times. Love the huge pool and all the action on the reef. The balconies are huge and all overlook the sea. the resturant is good for breakfast and there are plenty of great places to eat all in walking distance of this property. Bakeries and grocery stores are also nearby. The only problem I had were the beds. The linens are aged and worn.

"hotel wasn't bad once you go used to the fact that it was nothing like the pictures or discription. there is NO BEACH! The bar closes at 9pm, the resturant menu is small and unchanging. There is no entertainment or activities at the hotel. But the staf was very friendly and helpful. the rooms were ok, but no phone, ice bucket, beds uncomfortable. The neigborhood leaves something to be desired. This was not at all the vacation i was hoping it would be. Very disapointed"

"Our ?oceanfront? room had amazing views from the patio. Town was out the front door, good because everything is close, bad because of loud Reggae music at 3am. Room was fair, paint would do wonders, the beds were awful. Go to Dunn's Falls, Reggae beach, eat on James ave and swim to the coral reef. We did all activities on our own. Negotiation skills are a must for everything. Everyone is a hustler, use taxi's with red plates. Silver Seas is a fine, clean place to stay in a great location so long as you understand it?s not the Ritz. "

"the linen had a stink ordor to it. the room was crawling with ants. there weren't any ice buckets to take ice to your room, and when u asked for ice it was like they didn't want to give it to you. The receptionist was nice. the view of the ocean was nice too."

"We had been flying for over 24 hours and arrived to this place which was DISGUSTING! The floor was filthy. It looks like it was an old Hostel and they have done NO CHANGES to it since it was built in 1940. The only thing that we enjoyed was a red strip after waiting here for 3 hours for travel agent to find somewhere else for us. If you want to enjoy your vacation...DONT STAY HERE!"

"First let me state that I live in Kingston, Jamaica. After viewing the propety online, the nightly rates & the rating (2 stars, but comparing it to other places that we have been to which also got two stars) Silver Seas was the choice ... well atleast until we got there. The gentleman who addressed us must have missed the day at hotel 101 school where they taught customer service. I would not recommend this joint ... not even to an enemy. Needless to say we did not spend the night ... you can find better ... trust me!"

"Born and raised in jamaica. Took my wife and kids to jamaica for the first time and this hotel was ""GARBAGE"" pictures on line was a lie. Hotel need to be ""DEMOLISH"" only thing that works correctly was runnig water, opening your room door was like doing a chinese puzzel and for this to be the 21st century i thought all hotels had a phone in the rooms ""NO COMPLIMENTARY MEAL."" I Would never recomend this place not even to the Devil. "

"This hotel is definitely a 2 star as far as amenities, no telephone in room, terrible mattresses, but it is a very good deal, great oceanviews, large room and balcony, good location. Near good snorkeling, there is a pool, restaurant and bar. Overall, this hotel was fine for the money."

This hotel is run-down. No level of Customer Service. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Pictures of Silver Seas posted on the internet are deceiving.

"Hotel pictures were definitely deceiving. Lock on door didn't work, no phone in room. In the ban neighborhood, didnt feel safe. Spend an extra 20 dollars and stay at a different hotel, trust me."

If you want to skip out on all the things you leave the US for go stayin a Jamaican owned hotel. All the others don't have the culture as Silver Seas does. Personally I like to feel the city and for me I have now gone back to silver seas several times just because it is a great place to flop/be a rastaman/hang with jamaicans//smoke some herbIf that sounds good bring a radioand a towel rent a scooter and you are set.
