visits with family and friends. Lots of good restaurants handy with the same wonderful view over the water, excellent walking paths and piers teeming with water wildlife. A healthy outdoor atmosphere.

My husband came home from Iraq, and we wanted a really nice hotel, so we choose this hotel on the waterfront. It is VERY ROMANTIC!!!! I love the location. Our room was right over the water. We woke up to the beautiful sunrise. The room was very clean, with a big king size bed. We also choose the room with the Spa... that was really relaxing. Overall my stay here was great! The only complaint I have is that it is REALLY pricey... (They do give Military discounts).I also read the reiviews .Some weretalking about the train noise and being so close... I honestly didn't hear the train. Our room was on the other side. The hotel windows are double paned. So, that's good! I do recommend this Hotel.

You pay a premium for staying at this hotel but it has a great waterfront location, is well-managed and maintained, and staff is friendly and professional. It's a five minute drive to the University of Puget Sound, where our daughter is going to school.

Location on the water at Puget Sound. Excellent good location wonderful continental breakfast. Clean rooms with wonderful views.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The service is exceptional. The proximity to the water and restaurants is choice. Free laundry and shuttle service within 5 miles! Free Internet access! The free breakfast was okay but could use improvement. The reported train noise was barely noticeable. The reflection of the water on the ceiling at night is enchanting.

The value here is the water. The location is on the water next to parks and bike path. Several restaurants close by, nicely appointed rooms and great lobby breakfast Large flat screen tv, high speed internet access. Bathrooms small for price point.

This picture does not do it justice; I lost my husband to the dock walk around the hotel beforfe checkin. Nice rooms, newspaper & breakfast are included, also internet, right on a great walking/jogging path along the waterfront with restaurants down the way. Beautiful views and a beautiful place, you will like it. Oh, and nice service & people, free parking & easy to get to.

The Silver Cloud is in a lovely setting right on the waterfront. The views are spectacular and the scenery is always changing, with the ships, barges, boats, and parasailors going by. The only drawback to the location is its proximity to the trains, which go by day and night. Our room was some distance from the RR tracks, so the noise wasn't bad, but our friends had a noisier room. There are no dining facilities in the hotel, but we knew that going in. There are excellent restaurants very near by, and it's an easy, beautiful walk to any of them. We would happily stay at the Silver Cloud Inn again.

We have had kids go to college in Tacoma so we have visited there quite freguently over the last 6 or 7 years. This hotel is the best one we have ever stayed in. It is in a great location, the views are very nice, the staff very helpful and the breakfasts are good. The rooms are clean and well kept.

I didn't know about this hotel, since we're East Coasters and this is a small West Coast chain. It was pleasant, but the location, even though on the water, could have had more. Train tracks separate it from the quaint town center and a pool would be a nice amenity. It's right by the town docks, so a hotel boat for tours or fishing would be a nice addition. I seemed to note the hotel was popular for elderly visitors. The breakfast and breakfast areas were extremely nice. The hotel was not exactly set up to accommodate visitors needing to print out airplane boarding passes. I had to sit in the lobby at their business desk to do so and the printer was not commercial grade. They should provide a small room/computer/printer for business matters.

Very clean in a very good location. Hotel lacks amenities and eating facilities. Because of this I find it overpriced.
