They really made this place look much better in the pics. I wasn't expecting much, but I didn't pay much either. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, it's acceptable. Be aware that a major road runs next to the building and light sleepers may not be able to get to sleep. I had no problems. The hotel looks like an abandoned building above the 6th floor, but the 10th floor has a belly dancing bar. You can see the pyramids from the hotel, of course there are slums between the hotel and the pyramids, but you can still see them.

the pictures on orbitz need to be updated as these must be from when the hotel first opened.I had already figured out that for the price it was probably not a 5* hotel.never ate their and didn't look like many people did.the pool and hot tub were filthy with dirt or algae and the deck area was not useable,very dissapointing.pluses were the fact that we were in an area that was relevant to how the real Egyptians live and work which was a great cultural experience.Close ride to the Pyramids and Sakkara,Memphis.A bit of a trek to the Northern part of Cairo and City centre but worth the sights and sounds.Would not trade the location just maybe a hotel that offered the weary traveller and clean pool and a place to soak after a long days sightseeing.

The Siag Pyramids, CAIRO, Egypt 2-29-2008 to 3-2-2008 was NOT comfortable at all, carpet smelled like mold carried from the hallway?the house keeping young man brought air freshener that made NO difference. When we walked to the assigned room housekeeping noticed the room was already occupied and we had to move to the next room. There was no desk or table, only two small low uncomfortable chairs. The wide sliding patio door was heavy and dragging and could not be locked due to Brocken handle. The chest drawer was falling apart and had to fight to open and close the Brocken drawers. Air conditioner was missing few knobs and could not be set for cool when the afternoon sun was hitting the room which made it very uncomfortable. When you open the patio door and go over the balcony you see part of the city and behind the buildings the two pyramids which can be seen only on a clear day. There was smug and air pollution that made the pyramids not visible. The car noise was so load that made the stay un-enjoyable. The bathroom was OK, some fixtures did not function at all. I had to call for tissues and bath rolls and building engineer to fix the dysfunctional plumbing, and falling apart receptacles and lights. The door key was very hard to operate and door chain was flimsy. The TV did not have much of anything to watch and there was no cable hooked to it. The most annoying-outstanding things that prevented me from sleeping were the uncomfortable bed that had a big dip in the middle and the load party music that came from the two night club Bars one on the top and the second on first floor. The music was so load that I could not sleep at all and when you are traveling and want to rest to carry on the next day. The tourist office was a rip off for the sound and light pyramid night show and diner Nile cruise with the poorest quality of food and delayed schedule compared to other quality ones in that we experienced in the Cairo. The location was NOT good at all and is far away

Every night starting around 10-10:30 PM, you will be partying with live and VERY LOUD music for at least 1/2 the night !!! Our stay was 4 days and it is a party every night so if you are young and into that atmosphere you won't find a cheaper hotel in the pyramids area with a pool ! BUT BE WARNED if you are traveling with children that need sleep bring your earplugs! Not to mention the floor would have been softer than the spring ridden beds! I might have tried it but I couldn't tell when it was last vacd' (ewe) , when we checked in they gave us a key to someone else's room which we didn't know until we walked in !!!!! *BONUS* When you walk in they do have a nice light fixture from the 80's !

If you are looking to see the evening light show off of the Pyramids, this is a fine spot to see them from, as it is close to them, and the rooms have nice balconies from which you can video the show. This is a very large hotel, and only a 5 minute ride to the Pyramids in morning traffic. The extra large pool was fantastic for a fish like me, and my family enjoyed it together while a wedding party and a birthday party were using the dining halls on the poolside cafe balconies that evening. Our room was large and spacious, with 2 double-beds, good for us and our adult son, and we did it for the price of one room only. The fourth floor was very quiet and we had the end room with great privacy. Wireless internet service was available only in the lobby next to the front desk. Bring your 220 French style plug adaptors to be sure that you can plug things in. The decor in this place is for a luxury African palace of the 1960's or so, with beautiful wood and velvet-styled wallpaper. If you only want the most modern decor, find another hotel.You can ride the camels or horse-drawn buggies around the pyramids region and to see the Sphynx, as well as strolling in the nearby tourist streets or eating in the nearby restaurants. Barter for your purchases and you should be able to pay less. The dollar is strong here, so it goes quite far in getting your family souvenirs or enjoying the sites. The Egyptian Museum is about 30 minutes away by taxi, and is a fantastic place to go if you want to delve into the lives of the Pharoahs and their search for eternal life. The taxis here are very inexpensive also compared to Khartoum, Europe, or USA, and are a very convenient way to see the city. You can also have a buffet dinner on the Nile at a very good price here!
