Shogetsu Grand Hotel

The traditional accommodation is situated in Jozankei, a hot spring resort area about a one-hour car ride from Sapporo city centre. Thanks to the renown of healing effects by the natural hot spring waters, the area became famous and attracts many visitors. Sapporo Kokusai Ski area and Mt. Hakkenzan with its picturesque views of the ravine mountains are near-by. From Shin-Chitose Airport it takes approximately 35 minutes by train to JR Sapporo Station and from the station it takes about 60 minutes by bus to Jozankei Bus Stop, then it is just a minute walk to the Ryokan.

It is a small Ryokan type of property at the entrance of Jozankei hot spring resort area. The accommodation features a traditional Japanese-Kaiseki dinner utilizing local cooking ingredients and it is also well-known by domestic tourists. Breathtaking view of the beautiful mountains and city are perfect for those guests wanting to get away from the stress to relax in natural surroundings.

The main entrance and the lobby are located on the 6th floor of the building. It is a modern, an 8-storied white and brawn building.

Dinner is not available, if the guest arrives after 19 o'clock on evening.

The rooms are only Japanese style with no beds. By day, the rooms are furnished with a low table and zabuton floor cushions on Japanese straw tatami mats. There is also a sitting area with two armchairs and a coffee table. By night, the room is transformed with Japanese futons into a sleeping area. Each room at the Ryokan has its own private bath and toilet.

There is an eating facility on the lobby floor where the breakfast and the dinner will be served. Also, a tea lounge is attached to the lobby which is well decorated in style, blending of Japanese and Western elements. Private banquet rooms are also available for groups.
