We like this hotel. Just across the Shinagawa station. The buffet breakfast on the ground floor was nice. It is a pick up point for the Mt. Fuji Hakone tour. So convenient. The room looked a bit dated, but still clean. There is a food court at the annex which serves good food. We will go back to this hotel.

Good location. Tiny rooms, staff was not particularly helpful. Tokyo in general has very limited space. The room was ok in that respect. However, the staff was not very helpful.

Large hotel complex with many facilities - restaurants, food hall, bowling lane, shops etc opposite Shinagawa station. Very convenient location for travel to other areas of Tokyo and on main line out of Tokyo on bullet train. Also drop off and pick up hotel for airport bus. Rooms and bathroom good size in Annex tower where we stayed. Highly recommend.

The hotel location is excellent for business or leisure traveler. Max person per room was only 2, so our family of 4 had to get 2 rooms. The hotel was lovely, but the rooms were exceptionally small. Max per room was only 2 so our family of 4 had to get 2 rooms. No cable. Had problem with water pressure. Staff was exceptionally courteous. Location was right across from the Shinagawa train station which was great.

This was our last stop (for 2 nights) in a 23-day tour of Japan and the hotel sounded great on the internet. Although the location is excellent (on a major subway line and there is a direct high-speed train going to the airport at a 2-minute walking distance) and the staff is very pleasant, the disadvantages more than offset the plusses. Here are our specific complaints: 1) the room was too small for two medium suitcases. The hotel did not want us to place one on the large window sill (alcove style), which would have solved the problem. 2) the air-conditioning was the least efficient out of all the hotels or ryokans we stayed at 3) the room and corridor smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking floor 4) the pillows were very thick and hard. We slept without them 5) our carpet had stains (cigarettes?) 6) at 1 a.m. one night we heard a neighbour talking loudly but could not tell if it was above or below us or in the room next door 7) to watch TV in our room (e.g. just to get a weather report) we had to pay a flat rate of $10 for unlimited use during the day 7) to use the hotel's pool, you had to pay $10 8) to use internet facilities, you had to go to a café in the hotel and buy something to drink. this allowed unlimited use of the internet (at no other place in Japan did we have to pay). We definitely will not stay here again. There is much better value for money in Tokyo.

For us, the most important feature was the convenient location, right across the street from the train station. Great restaurant (Songoku), too! Our rooms were small and not that well appointed, but that might just be because of the reasonable price! Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Shinagawa Prince, although it was our least favorite of the four hotels we stayed in during our 10-day trip. The service was excellent and the location was excellent. The rooms were ok, but small and unimpressive. At least they were clean! The Chinese buffet, Songoku, was excellent. Not a spectacular hotel, but serviceable.

The facilities of this hotel complex are outstanding. We stayed in the main tower and our room was fine but the carpets on the whole floor were mainly pink in colour which sadly looks very grubby. Staff were very helpful. The room was small as we had our daughter in an extra bed. Our only complaint was that none of us managed to bath without flooding the bathroom floor. I'd happily to stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 26 days and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The beds were comfortable, the room was cozy, and the hotel provides every service you'll ever need (from a general store (THREE of them) and clothing departments to high-class restaurants and everyday food courts). The JR is right across the way and the Mita subway station is just a fifteen minute walk down the road. There are only a few things I recommend not doing: 1) getting laundry cleaned is incredibly expensive 2) a few of the food court stands aren't very good (the takoyaki, the ramen, and the crepes were the ones I tried and liked - the Chinese one not so much) and 3) don't forget to call the maids in the morning (their English isn't very good and they are very eager to clean for you and so it's hard to explain to them that you're not interested). But I digress. Shinagawa Prince Hotel is even at the perfect location. You can take a straight shot to Asakusa via the Asakusa subway line, you can walk to Tokyo Tower if you're up for a morning or evening jog, and you can get to fashion hubs like Harajuku or Shibuya super easily by the JR. I'm looking forward to going back.

Very close to JR and metro. Can get anywhere in 5 minutes. Had to pay for internet per day. Good location, modern new building. Flat screen TV. Internet is about $11/day. Price of breakfast is high $20/person (but portion is bigger) compared to if you go out it is about $10.

Location. None. This location is great for convenience of transportation through trains and also very close to numerous restaurants. Nearby 24 hour convenience store. Room was clean and nice with very helpful staff for our stay.

The North Tower is less of a value than the Annex Tower. The room was much smaller and the bathroom had some mildew on the ceiling which is probably caused by their ventilation and air conditioning system. The room was really hot during the day and although you can open the windows, it would be better perhaps if the air conditioning worked more efficiently. It didn't really help to make the room any cooler for some reason. The staff are very polite and friendly, and the breakfasts in the main hall are very good.

I stayed here one night in the East Tower which is for single travelers. It is very close to the Shinagawa JR Rail staion. It took about 5 minutes to walk with no stairs, there are ramps along the way. The room was compact as is Japan style. Well equiped with locking closet, refridgerator, and bath. The bed was a little thin with only one small pillow which is standard for Japan, but that is what cost it in ratings. Simple, functional, and close to the rail station. If you have a friend that can read Japanese and can book it locally you can get the room a little cheaper.

NA. Rooms were very small, far from centre of town. Tourist locations. Although directly on Subway line. Would recommend it for short stays only.

Blanket is too thin and you can see stains on its cover when you look carefully. Facilities are fairly old but are still functioning well. Location is good, everyone you approach in the Shinagawa station knows the hotel, when you need help for direction. However, when you are about to reach you'll find it's rather confusing as it has too many towers and with the malls downstair it's quite easy to get lost.

This hotel at a great location right across from most subway lines and rail line to Kyoto. For kids cheap eats McDonalds & Starbuck in the area. The hotel includes a pool, bowling alley, arcade, cafe, stores and an aquarium. My kids 8 and 16 loved it and being from NYC - they don't say this unless they really mean it.

Great location. It was very crowded. Great hotel, great location. Beds are very Asian, i.e.. hard, but after 2 years in Asia I am getting used to that. Some of the prices of the amenities, like the pool, were priced wrong in the welcome packet in the room so you have to double check everything if you are on a budget.
