My friend and I were in Tacoma for the night, and just wanted a cheap, safe place to stay. Shilo was great for that. The room was a great size, and clean--all the wonderful amenities like shampoos, fridge, microwave, breakfast (more than just continental), pool and hottub, free cookies at the front desk. It wasn't fancy, the room was nothing to remember, but again--cheap and safe, clean and fully stocked, right off of I-5.

We paid $* for this room after looking at other reviews and seeing the pics online. This room is like a Motel 6 with two bed. Nowhere near a suite. The bathroom is smaller than any bathroom I have ever seen in a motel. The bathroom door opens into the bathroom so you have to do this little dance to manouver around the door when you go in there. You just about trip over the toilet coming out of the shower. The pool is so cloudy that you cant see your own feet in the the shallow end and don't even think about opening your eyes under water. The hot tub is half drained and out of order as of Saturday Feb. 7th. We drove all the way from Eugene Oregon and our main reason for choosing this hotel was the indoor pool and hot tub. What a huge disappointment at check-in. No refund was offered. This pretty much ruined our entire trip. If we had known the hot tub was out of order and the pool was allowed to become so filthy we would never have stayed here. You can hear the freeway noise all night long. After checking in we had to manouver ourselves and luggage around a dozen maids carts parked in the main floor hallway. The elevator sounds like its on its last leg. It creaks and rattles. We would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Attended son's college graduation. Hotel unable to confirm reservtion upon arrival. Next to busy, noisy freeway. Congested area, hard to walk anywhere safely, although many restaurants close by

The location was right next to the freeway and our room was on that side so there was freeway noise. The sleep timer didn't work on the tv. The beds were hard, pillows inadequate, and my sheets felt like sandpaper.The bathroom was so small that if someone opened the door while you were using it, they'd hit you. The "juice" for the continental breakfast was more like orange flavored water. The plus side was the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and always smiling!

We finished up our stay in the NW at this hotel. I was very impressed with the rooms here, the beds were super and the rooms were large and clean. The breakfast was good, though the only complaint I would have is that the staff didn't seem to want to keep the bfast supplies stocked, maybe hoping to dissuade people from eating. Had to ask for silverware, more milk, muffins, etc. We were located close to I5 and the noise was not really an issue. Lots of eating close by to walk to. Pool was a big hit with our kiddos.

The hotel FAX machine failed and I could not understand why the manager just did not run down to Office Depot and get one for $100 and solve the problem. Several hotel guests were trying to send and receive FAXes. It was still down the next day and I don't know if my FAXes were ever sent. They really need to add a stationary bike to there fitness room and it would be a good workout area, small but adequate.

We arrived close to midnight and the people were so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the rooms. Ours was quiet and always neat and clean when we returned. The location was great and close to restaurants and shopping. My kids loved the pool (which was nice being indoors), and it was also quiet and clean. I have to say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Since my sister and family live in Tacoma we will be for sure staying here again!

For the price, the room was just a room. Nothing more. The front desk staff were very rude. There was trash on the outside of the hotel that remained there for our stay of 2 days. The location was the only plus for us. Not worth the money.

This was a short trip but the hotel was worth the money. Great location. close to mall and eating areas. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Definately worth it.

I would not stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to a friend. It was a strange hotel. It is one of the few hotels that still has an actual key verses an electronic key card. There were little things that were strange (i.e. the ironing board didn't have a cover on it), but overall just a very strange and unpleasant feeling. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable.

Hotel advertised pool & even called in 800# to verify but when arrived it was under construction & had been. Kids were completely disppointed & front desk staff would not offer any rate reducation or assistance for my troubles. Breakfast offering was minimal. Problems with TV & must PAY EXTRA for Children's stations!

Nice setting and staff. pool area nice but room felt old and musty. was okay at my price but they have doubled the cost and it isn't worth it for room.
