Date of Stay: July, 2009

I booked my stay at the Sheraton Westport Chalet because I wanted to stay at this hotel. After reading some reviews of the hotel, it became known that they frequently move people who have reservations at the Chalet to their sister hotel down the street. I did not want this to happen to me, I called 2 weeks prior to my trip to confirm my reservation at the Chalet and that i would not get moved to the other hotel. I was assured that I was all set for my lakeview room at the Chalet. When I showed up to check in, I was informed that my reservation was not at the Chalet but at the Westport Plaza. I argued that I had reserved a room at the Chalet and not the Plaza, they said their was nothing they could do, that the hotel was overbooked. I drove down the street to the sister hotel and checked in. Needless to say I was very upset at being bumped out of my reservation. As a piece offering, the lady at the front desk sent me a bucket of beer and some chocolate pretzels and a box of chocolates. It was a nice gesture and I enjoyed the beer, but the chocolates were so old that they had turned that horrible gray color and they were no longer fit for human consumption. Beer and chocolates did not make up for the fact that I did not get to stay in the hotel that I had reserved and that my lakeview room turned into a room with a view of an alley and parking lot. I will not be staying at this Sheraton or any Sheraton in the future.

Positive, A Little far from downtown Saint Louis, Soulard, University Center, The Loop, Forrest Park, these are all the attractions i recommend. Otherwise night life and fun times at this location.

It was located next to numerous dining options. No freeWIFI in rooms and also no hot tub. For the price, this hotel offered excellent value. The room was spacious and clean, staff was friendly, and location was good.

Great hotel for young professionals, romantic get-aways, or just relaxing with the family. The service is some of the best I have encountered in all my travels (I typically spend 12-20 days a month in hotels!) and I struggled to find any fault in the hotel that were out of there control. The location is great and this hotel is now my #1 favorite in St. Louis...there are a ton of restaurants you can walk to in the outdoor mall and the pool was very relaxing with a view of their own lake. I love the fact that you can find something new every night of your trip and it is only about 10 minuites from the airport (they have a complimentary shuttle too which was a mjaor plus). The nightlife is whatever you make of it; easy to find a good beer or glass of wine. I opted for a nice Italian restaurant the first night while with collegues, sushi the next, and a nice filet mignon my last night in Westport. I didn't have a chance to eat in the hotels restaurant, but the food at our conference was top notch...try ther cookies in the conference center! This was a great place for a small to medium meeting like ours but I am sure it would be even better for a large event if you could book an entire wing of the lakeview rooms. Can't wait to be back and our vice-president agrees...we will be coming back in November.

It's a 1970s hotel that has been brought up to Sheraton standards. Some of the public areas look like they have just had a coat of paint slapped on them. The room was very nice. It still annoys me to no end that you are charged $10 a day to have internet access in the rooms. No wonder the lobby was packed with people using the free wifi.

Everything was perfect here. The service, the rooms, the view of the lake. You walk out of the hotel and there are many restaurants, as well as a comedy and Jazz club within steps of the hotel.

I liked the friendly staff, free yummy homemade cookies, view of the beautiful pool and lake, free internet terminals in the lobby. I wished I had a mini refrigerator in my room and a continental breakfast option.

Room was beautiful, but I have to say that hotel rooms aren't cleaned as throughly as one would think (bathroom toilet, shower, dust, etc.)

We were supposed to be in the Chalet and were told when we arrived that it was closed for renovations. We were later told that it was for economic reasons. We should have been made aware of this prior to arrival as we did not get what we expected or paid for.

Restaurant availability. Somewhat difficult to get to from the highway. If guests were not allowed to keep dogs in cages outside of my hotel room it would have been fine. Someone had three large dogs caged in a gravel area outside the hotel room windows. They barked continuously from 4:00 am in the morning!

We went to the Sheraton because we lost power because of an ice storm. The staff was great! It was warm and welcoming after such a hard day!

The Sheraton Chalet was very nice. The room was furnished with very nice furniture, and there was plenty of space. The bed was absolutely comfortable, and the room was very clean. I would definitely come go back!!

I had to be in St. Louis for contract negotiations and stayed for 2 months. What a great hotel to be stuck in with all of the restaurants and entertainment within walking distance.
