Our maid service was superb. [...] did a most excellent job.

The best hotel for your money on Kaanapali Beach. Front desk person who checked me in was not friendly. I have stayed at the Hyatt, Kaanapali Beach Hotel and the Sheraton in the last 4 months. The Sheraton is the absolute best choice. Rooms are very well decorated with new flat screen TVs and a general appearance of luxury. Restaurant was a wonderful experience. The food was of the highest quality and reasonable in price. Stay away from the Hyatt, food lackluster and silly expensive.

First let me say we love this property. It is our second visit here. In comparison, all of the Kaanapali properties are spectacular for scenery and beach activities. Property wise, this has to be in the top 3. But... what I learned on this trip is that virtually all properties are winners. As expected the meals and drinks are very pricey. Service is generally quite good and the employees are extremely friendly. Entertainment options abound, but in comparison are little better than the other Kaanapali hotels. Rooms are only about average. The beds are advertised as something special, but in my experience, are on par with a low grade travel hotel. There are no special 'go out of the ways to make you feel special' that I expect from this class of resort. For instance, no paper on the doorstep. Another thing that I find very disappointing, when booking through online travel website, they won't accept the Starwoods Preferred Guest card for points. Considering that I wouldn't have come if it weren't for online travel websites great price and that once here, I spent several hundred of dollars on site in meals and drinks and beach rentals; to me, it indicates that I am not really valued as a customer. In these times, when the travel to Hawaii is so depressed (it is evident at this property also), I'd think they'd be more interested in taking care of their customers. Lastly, it appeared that there were several local 'toughs' on the property sneaking in from the beach, bottle of whiskey in hand. No one thing left a terrible impression, but the combination of the little nits has left me feeling disappointed. We paid a premium for the convenience of the resort. Next time, we'll target the adjacent property, the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Every thing was great, had a little trouble with the airline, but it worked out in the end. The airline also wouldn't let us upgrade because we booked through Orbitz. The hotel was wonderful, the price was great, and perfect location on Maui. The snorkling at the hotel was the best we found, six turtle's and almost every fish we could think of, it was great. Should of done ten day's instead of seven. Also if you get a chance AlexAir offers a "door's off" helicopter tour, it was INCREDABLE. Don't rent snorkle gear at the Hotel,$$$. Go to Maui dive or Snorkl Bob's.

Excellent location on Black Rock Did not get room preference. If you are looking forward to snorkeling in Maui, this is a great place to stay. This is definitely a family style resort, which can be good and bad. There are many options for beaches, pools, and snorkeling. However, the family style atmosphere means the resort lacks the cleanliness and sophistication of a upscale resort.

We enjoyed it immensely. Staff very courteous, grounds and views beautiful. We did pay for an ocean view room with a lanai and our lanai was 'standing room only', but after one night there we were moved to a room with a regular sized lanai by Noah at the front desk, who is a doll. Nice apt.size referigerator to store our own food and drinks which helped our budget. We loved the location for walking the beach and snorkling was good. Skipped dining there because it was very expensive. Instead enjoyed the short drive to Lahaina for restaurants and walking the town. We highly recommend the Sheraton.

Hotel was nice if you got a room near the pool or beach. The first few nights we had a deluxe ocean front, which sounds nice but was too far from everything and had no view (we were on the first floor). Once we were moved closer to the center of the hotel everything was much nicer. Also the towel guy was jerk. I think this guy acutally thought I wanted to steal a towel or two. Very strange guy from Arkanas.

The hotel and the view are beautiful, but we had to fight with the front desk to get the room for which we paid. They tried to "upgrade" us from an oceanfront view to a family suite with 2 double beds and a view of the yard. They did finally accommodate us by "shifting some things around." They also presented us with a letter for the free daily breakfast which we discovered 4 days later was not intended for us. They would not comp us for their mistake. The attitude of every front desk person we dealt with was poor, including the manager. Another word about the oceanfront room we booked: we were told this is merely a request and never a guarantee which was news to us since we had paid for the room 4 months in advance through travel website. There's really no reason to pay the high rates without the view, which is amazing. It was our feeling that they pegged us early on as not the type of clientele they cater to (middle class as opposed to upper class) and treated us as such. Note that any services the hotel offers are outlandishly priced. The reason we fought over something as small as a daily breakfast is because that breakfast is priced at $26 a person for decent, but cold, food. We will try to find a more stress free experience when we come back. Our advice to prospective customers is to know exactly what's included in your package before you sign up and write it down. You will pay for any mistakes the hotel makes.

We stayed at this location for our honeymoon 3 years ago and loved it. This time we paid less for a room without an ocean view. What we didn't expect was to be placed in a tiny room, next to an elevator, with no balcony (hotel website shows lanais for all rooms). When the elevator kept us awake at night they were able to get us a new room, and mentioned that it would be larger...but it was the exact same size and was not as clean. The food is over-priced for the quality. Overall, we love the location and would probably stay here again, it was just disappointing compared to last time

The pool was very nice, and to be able to snorkel right in front of the hotel was great! The furniture needed up dating, it was well used. At first I was disappointed, but after being at the Sheraton I realized it was a better choice for us. The property is sprawling which made it feel not as crowded as other hotels, the pool was a dreamy lagoon pool. The tiki torches lighting the property at night and the Hawaiian entertainment set a romantic atmosphere. We were able to snorkel at one of the best and easiest to enter the water right off our beach. We were shocked at the food prices at most restaurants including the restaurants at the Sheraton. Be prepared for a daily resort fee of $20.00 (not sure what that included). This resort was a short walk to whaler's village where you have a choice of other places to eat, and a nice stroll at the end of the day.

The Hotel was very good. The location was great the pool was nice but the bathroom had no counter space. We were in room 4301 the house keeper told us that room 4310 has a lot of counter space.

I can not say anything bad about the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa. The front desk was super nice, friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful place. The room was very nice and spacy. It had everything we needed. The maid service was great. If you needed anything, all you had to do was ask. The grounds were very neat and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. We felt safe and secure while we were there. They offered something for everyone and for all ages. We would definitely stay there again and would highly reccommend it.

Hotel is very nice and in a great location. Right next to one of the best beaches in Maui. Only negatives: restaurants all close down too early in hotel and space is really spread out making it tiresome to go from lobby to rooms.

Big LCD TV. After rain the exterior hallways were very slippery. Great beach but as with many of the Kaanapalli hotels, this property is a bit old and outdated.

The front desk friendly but not overly helpful. Business was slow when we were there so the staff stood around mostly talking amongst each other ignoring customers for at least 5 to 10 minutes. We had a ocean front deluxe room which was right on the water. We had an excellent view of all the turtles that were in the bay and saw lots of humpback whales from the lanai of the room. The beds were uncomfortable. Maid service lacking attentiveness to detail, cobwebs in the room and one day when we returned we had to call to get our room made up after being gone 5 hours. We enjoyed the in room microwave and fridge. We took the shuttle every night to eat and or shopping. I expected more but enjoyed the property and the beach/ocean/sunshine. I live on an outer island so I know what expensive is but Maui is more expensive than it needs to be. Noted: Honeymooners and a lot of infant babies vacationing.

Traveled with my two sons, the hotel had great restaurants, a nice big pool, and the snorkeling area in front of the hotel was great morning activity. The concierge service was great, we booked all of our activities with them and they always provided great service.

Perfect location - snorkeling available right outside the hotel. Almost got billed for phone calls we did not make - staff did correct this though. Best location of all resorts. It is located right on the best beach. Snorkeling available right outside the hotel. Nice, clean rooms, with great views.
