The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit small but expected in this type of hotel. Lobby was beautiful. The kids said they thought they were in a beautiful fairy tale castle. The indoor pool was clean with plenty of towels. There was broken light in the actual pool that didn't look too safe. Hopefully it has been fixed. Overall we liked the hotel. Location is close to many fine restaurants and bars. All walking distance or by bus available right outside. Staff was friendly, especially the bell men. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and elegant hotel at a reasonable rate.

The room was OK, but not what I was expecting. The pictures of the hotel are very misleading. The pool was only average, nothing like the picture. This may sound strange but the rooms have seriously loud toliets, you can hear your neighbors toliet flush in the middle of the night. We did not eat at the restaurant or get room service. Would not stay there again.

the sheraton read house in chattanooga is the perfect place for a quick getaway. it is convenient to all of chattanooga's attractions and has a wonderful staff as well. we could walk to most of the attractions and the others were a very short drive away. there is a great little bar/restaurant just off the lobby. the biggest bonus: a starbucks right off the lobby. my husband and i enjoyed our stay there and will definitely go back!

Beautiful, historic hotel. Great downtown location. Friendly staff (Especially the man dressed as a woman! Very nice & professional!) Warm hot tub & cold pool. Expensive valet parking. Rooms with king beds are pretty small. The Read House is a very nice, historic hotel and overall our stay was good. Our 1st night wasn't the greatest we had a small King bed room across the hall from vending & above noisy motorcycle parking in the alley. It was difficult sleeping. However, the 2nd night the staff switched us to nice, big room with 2 Queens beds. I would request this type of room at the outset because they aremuch larger and more comfortable.

Porter's restaurant at this hotel is outstanding (one of the best New Zealand lamb dishes we've had, and in Chattanooga of all places in the world!), side dishes are great! Porter's ensures a good stay at this hotel if you care about your food. Hotel is good (perhaps not exciting enough for families with kids as per other reviews) but you have to accept an old building with inconsistent renovations. For us that is okay as we like the old architecture and quiet places. Advise taking the jr suites to have good space. Valet parking on the premises only, but the attendants are outstanding. Starbucks on the main floor, free city trolley bus takes you to main attractions which are just a few minutes away (outstanding Tennessee Aquarium, the Choo Choo, and a very short walk to the Tivoli Theatre to catch the CSO!). We have had inconsistent stays as far as the front desk's service is concerned. Normally good, but some stays were very poor in this regard. Valet parking and porter service has always been good. Pool and facilities are fine, decent business office. Overall though, considering location, food, and its old architecture this is a good hotel. I'd like to see the prices about 15% lower (even on AAA rates) they are a bit high. This is not a Sheraton owned hotel (just a licensed partner, which explains some inconsistent stays).

This hotel is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. My family and I were so excited to stay at this hotel last week, only to live a nightmare visit. I made reservations a couple of weeks in advance for a long weekend for our family which includes 3 girls, two of which were 9 and 7 years old. I called the day of our scheduled stay (around 4pm) because I knew we would be coming in late (9pm) and wanted to ensure that we would have our room and to make sure the room arrangements were for proper amount of beds etc. The front desk worker, who answered assured me we would be fine. We drove and made it at the sched time. When we arrived they informed us they had no rooms available for us. According to them, some of their visitors extended their stay. They said they would be able to make room for us the next night, but if you have ever traveled w/kids you obviously do not want to be moving rooms all weekend and we already were having to find another place. Every other hotel we previously considered staying at was now full. They offered some rooms across town, and offered to pay for the one night and discount (Not COMP) our second night by half. When pressed about the reason they gave our room away, they stated some visitors has extended their stay. We asked why even have a reservation system if it doesn?t guarantee a room and what it came down to was that my rate (* discounted rate) was not as valuable to them as a */night rate they charged the people staying in our room. I am a frequent traveler but have not stayed at Sheraton in over 10 years. Guess what? With this reservation system and pitiful treatment, I will never give them anymore business either. Long story short, the manager on nights was rude, offering the bare minimum and because we confronted them they did not want us there at all. Our kids were crying, and they did not understand why we made reservations, yet couldn?t stay there?. It was sad and unbelievable and then a smack in our face to offer to only discount our

We decided to take a quick trip to Chattanooga and while doing research online I discovered the Read House. It had lovely photo's- good review and was sold out. I tried Travelocity and they found me a room. I was very happy - after I checked in and I was not as happy. The location was not great for a familyw/ children and the pool was tiny, loud and there was water spilling everwhere. It was slippery and dangerous. The room was fine the bathroom tiny and the shower could have been cleaner. The lobby was very nice and breakfast was fine. I would not stay here again on a family trip.

The Sheraton Read House Hotel had an intriguing 1920's atmosphere, yet had every modern comfort one could need. The staff was very helpful and friendly and had good recommendations for dining. Our room was small but adequate and very quaint and comfortable. Located within walking distance to the waterfront area, it was a nice choice.

Beautiful hotel, great location, and really comfortable beds! You either had to pay $15 for valet or park in the street with a street meter. Luckily no meter fees on weekends. My experience at the Sheraton Read House was amazing! It was beautiful on the inside and the hotel staff was very friendly. Our room was great and the bed was very comfortable. It was also in a great location and there is a free shuttle that can pick you up right outside the hotel.

"The outside of the hotel is beautiful and the lobby and public areas part of the older hotel and are very interesting to look around. Our room, however, was in the newer part and the walls were so thin. We had a door in our room for an adjacent room and it was so noisy. Slept horrilby. Beds and pillows are down and feather, if you are allergic, WATCH OUT! The shower curtain was thin, dirty and flimsy. If you stay don't get a room with a adjoining door in it. The Starbucks was the only nice part about it. We will stay at the Chatanoogan next time."

Convenient to downtown attractions. Charged too much for parking! $15.
