Great Friendly Staff and easy to get to A good stay, clean and neat, pleasant staff who stayed cool even when I witnessed a guest abusing the front desk staff.

When we arrived, our first room had a very noisy air conditioner system outside, but we were moved without problem. Room good size. Portsmouth is a very nice town.

This "Harbor View" room was a joke. Although this hotel was located across the street from the water, our room overlooked 2 enormous hills of road salt, obliterating any hope of a legitimate harbor view. We were told at the front desk that this is what one can expect from a "working port." OKAY, we understand that Portsmouth is a working port, but why charge $$$/night for a this inferior view? The hotel is run down and in need of some renovations. Again...NOT WORTH THE PRICE!

We checked into the hotel expecting much more than what we got. For the price that we paid for the room we were expecting more than just a bed crammed into a hallway-like room. For the price that we paid for dinner at the Harborside Restaurant we were expecting more than horrible service accompanied by not so great, yet expensive, food (except for the lobster corn chower, which was delicious). To top it all off there was an error on our final bills. We spoke to the manager about dinner and he gave us a coupon for a free breakfast the following morning. The lounge staff upstairs was good though and the location is great, walking distance to everything in Portsmouth, but I would never stay here again. Overall we were really let down.

Suite rooms were excellent. Other rooms not so good. We stayed in this hotel previously and had a horrible experience. We stayed on the 4th floor in the suite areas and the room was superb. We'd stay in that room again. Other services are average to good. Staff was accommodating. Fitness room was good and pool was very small. Location fair; views on one side look over salt piles. Not overly attractive.

I stay in a lot of hotels and I can easily say that this is a great deal. The staff was absolutely fantastic and the location was perfect. The room carpet needed upgrade/cleaning, but otherwise it was fantastic!

It was convenient, clean, attractive and had a great location.

Deluxe" room was so small you couldn't walk around without bumping zomeone or something. The hotel seems to be old and showing signs of age.Room was not ready at check in.View from resteraunt was over looking cranes and dirt(?) piles.Hilton in Portsmouth is in better location and has nicer rooms.

Location to the beach and water. Bed uncomfortable and room needs to be remodeled/updated.

My wife and i on her 40th birthday couldnt even stand to stay in your hotel... Pure repulsive , but were charged full price and only stayed 10 minutes!! Even the holiday inn was a better choise. Thanks anyway...

Convenient location + nice amenities. Nothing. Convenient location, attractive decor + friendly staff. would definitely stay again.

This hotel was one of the only options in the area and it appeared to be the best looking. It was clean, the service was friendly and the location couldn't have been better....salt dome or not. However there are only 10 free parking spaces alotted for the entire complex. The other option is paying for parking in the underground lot. I would have liked to have known that before getting there. The mattress was really bouncy..not in a good way, unless you like being in constant motion all night. But that aside, it was still decent.

Location was excellent. The room was in disrepair. The bathroom was in need of remodeling. The room overlooked a truck loading facility. This hotel does not measure up to the standards I expect from a Sheraton. I could have stayed at a Hampton Inn or equivalent for much less and been just as satisfied. I did not eat at any of the hotel restaurants, so I cannot comment on them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Conveniently located to downtown, public areas were very nice. Not 4 star qualities, bathrooms in need of refurbishment, pillows and beds were uncomfortable. Not what we expected or paid for. The bathrooms were old and need to be updated. The pillows were so thick and hard I would need a chiropractor after this visit. The underground garage was dark and dingy. Fitness center was OK, Pool was dismal. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was acceptable but not outstanding and a little over priced. Staff was very nice and courteous.

"This is a beautiful, clean, very nice hotel in a great location in Portsmouth! I will agree with one comment someone else made, it is across the street from the water, so if you get a room on that side of the hotel, you may get an ""industrial"" view, but ours was awesome! It's also walking distance to everything, but just minutes from the highway. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Stay on the Club Floor and you get free breakfast too!"

Location. No outdoor pool. Great Staff, accommodating, the room was great.

"Location within short walking distance to shopping, dining, harbor tours; easy access to Maine outlet malls, beaches; Harbor side restaurant has excellent seafood; the Lobster and Corn Chowder is awesome."
Date of Stay:

Location was everything. Parking leaves a lot to be desired. Fantastic staff, clean rooms, convenient to Portsmouth area.

"Abandoned property site and a big salt dome greeted us in the morning; ""scenic"" view of the water blocked by a construction site dominated by a huge ugly salt dome. Garage old and worn and dirty."
Date of Stay:
March, 2007
Proximity to downtown shops and restaurants. Traffic around the hotel. Aside from the traffic buzzing around the building (which you can't hear from the inside) the location is great and the accommodation are comfortable. We'll go back.
