First, I want to say that I'm from Norfolk, VA home on R&R from Iraq. I've always held the Sheraton in high regard until I stayed there this past weekend. The very first thing I noticed was that the room didnt have a refrigator...for the price of the room I thought at least it would have one. So I had to go get ice to chill our beverages...but the ice maker on my floor was inoperable...so I had to go to another floor twice to get enough ice to put in the bathroom sink to chill the beverages. Then I decided to take a shower and to my surprise there were no hot water. The manager at the front desk stated that they were having maintenance problems. Well they had them all night because all night there was no hot water. And to top all that off the bed skirt had stains on it. I was truly disappointed. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager but I was not offered anything for my inconvenience because the manager stated that since I had prepaid my room online through orbitz there was nothing she could do. But she did offer to sign me up for thier Star program where I could earn points for staying at thier hotels in the future. I was like WOW...no thanks. I definitely will not be staying there or recommending this hotel to anyone. Save yourself time and money...stay somewhere else.

View and far distance from the elevator, expensive parking.

I was surprised at the long wait to check in (over 10 minutes), and at no time did someone even look up to greet me with a nod, let alone making me feel like they cared that I was standing there waiting to check in. Once it was my turn, I was greeted warmly, but if you're making people wait, it's standard practice to observe their presence, and I was disappointed by this initial impression. Then, overnight, the air conditioner was making really horrible noises like a buzzing alarm. This happened before the fan would kick in. If I had planned on a longer stay, I'd have raised the issue, but it was a short overnighter, and the trouble of moving four of us at midnight when we had to depart at 3 am wasn't worth it. Still, the noises were loud and kept my friend awake. The hotel was very clean and well kept. Hopefully this stay was a fluke, but I feel I should mention it.

The Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel was pretty nice they were doing alot of remodeling so a few of there amenities were not open, and the pool needed a little cleaning. The rooms were nice but felt alittle damp the two days we were there. Our room was not ready when it came time for check in so the host gave us two days free valet parking which was very helpful. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Sheraton was very nice, clean, and the staff were quite accomodating. I was given an 8th floor room with a great view of the harbour. There were plenty of restaurants and activities within walking distance and it was a quick ride to the airport.

We arrived the day before my boyfriend's 29th birthday and had a great time. I had called ahead and requested that strawberries and a bottle of champagne be left in the room upon arrival. Everything was just how I asked for it to be! We went down to the beach after we dropped our luggage off and checked in. spent the day there and relaxed. We were there during renovations but it didnt bother us. The staff was great and offered breakfast as part of the sheraton rewards program. I was very happy with my stay.

The Sheraton Norfolk was not up to par for a supposed three star establishment. The dust, carpets in hallways and elevator looked as it they hadn't been cleaned in months. Room was marginally clean, poorly maintained (lights, bathroom fixtures); no ice machines or vending machines were working. There were many other things that we've come to expect, like free internet access, which they did not offer. Although this was a convenient location I will not stay here again.

Last time I stayed at this hotel it was bad...This visit was awesome. The hotel has been completely renovated.. (still some work being done). The rooms are gREAT.The lobby is very hip with area for laptop users, with flat screen TVs and the waiters from the restaurant will come and offer you service. The front desk staff was great- big difference from a year ago! If going to Norfolk this is a great deal !

I was toldly blown away by the dirty mildew bathroom walls, dust all over the room, windows were dirty and very noisy room during day time hours, due to some construction going on I assume. This hotel was more like a 2 star than a four. After checking into a 3 star, that same day and it was just as discusting, furniture with chains holding them from leaning because of unlevel floors, mildew growth on walls and a/c blowing hot air, it was a awful weekend.

I thought this would be a classy hotel. Wrong! The beds and linnens are wonderful, but it is a little hard to relax after seeing a giant COCKROACH in the bathroom. They moved us 9 doors down and reduced the price of our room by * a night, but I'll never forget that thing sitting on the toilet. They should do everyone a favor and close the hotel down till they are finished renovating. The shuttle service was very nice took us to restaurants and church. Enjoyed the pool one evening, I was the only one in it. It was a little unsettlying when a clerk in the gift shop said to me on the first night, "we have nothing to do with them", meaning the hotel. Stay away until the renovations are finished!!!.

Located near the heart of downtown Norfolk, The Sheraton was a hop and a skip from everything. The room was extremely comfortable and neat. The room had everything I could ask for.

The room was great. We had a nice view of the river front. The parking isn't great, and would be a little costly if staying long.

It's about time this hotel is being renovated. I felt like I was staying in a low income nyc apartment building. Stains on the carpet, peeling off wallpaper. Very dirty appearance. My towels were no longer white from so much use and actually had holes in them. I woke up to people yelling, banging, hammering, drilling, etc. at 6:00 in the morning. The hotel staff for one thing couldn't speak english to answer any questions and were very rude, putting a customer on hold over the phone, to check out my new cell phone. EXTREMELY unprofessional. The location is fine, but expect to pay 14 to park your car yourself or 20 to valet park.If you don't mind paying a little extra, find another hotel down the street.

Location. Having to pay for parking. The hotel was really nice. But, the bathroom was too small. A sliding door instead of a swing door would do wonders.

The Sheraton Waterside is located Norfolk, VA. It was not the best experience at a major hotel. The front desk person was exceptionally helpful. Great customer service, friendly, good business savvy. The hotel room was very dirty. They were under construction on other floors but that was not an excuse for the overall dirtyness. Room service the first night was alright but the second night the food when brought to the room was not covered, and the drinks that were already poured in the glass were not covered. The food was not even warm. Not good. When I took a shower the water needed to run for about 5 minutes before it got hot. It was a working weekend for me so I was tired to even complain. I chose that particular hotel because of the location, it is on the waterside and I had a view of the harbour.
