The Sheraton is being renovated which we were not informed of when we booked. The lobby was under construction and it was hard to manuever around the hotel or to the resturant. There was a pool, but no hot tub due to construction. The room was dirty and our rooms were supposed to be adjoining and were down the hall from one another. I expected better accomodations given how much money I spent.

The bed and bedding were absolutely fabulous. Hardly any closet space or even drawer space for clothes! I loved the hotel but was surprised to find that in my very large, spacious, elegant room, there was hardly any closet space and only two small drawers. Hanging clothes shared a very small space with the ironing board! And the full length mirror was not very usable. I concluded they had designed the room for a man. Odd, though, considering how big the room was. It was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, though.

"This was much better than the other pet-freindly alternatives in the area. I do agree that unless you have business at the U, it is overpriced. The rooms were nice but old. We made reservations that listed complimentary cont. breakfast. When we asked about it, you would have thought that we were from another planet. The staff was very attentive otherwise."

A decent hotel, but I didn't know until we arrived that it was undergoing a big renovation (until September). As a result the lobby was closed and it was a little confusing to get around. The staff was very courteous and the fact that they allowed dogs for no extra charge was great. We never tried the restaurant, but there are plenty of choices in the pedestrian mall right out the front door. Parking is in the city garage right next door and you get a stamp for your parking that waives the fee.

Pool was closed due to renovation.

There are other choices when traveling on business to Iowa City, but no one compares to the Sheraton. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They go out of their way to make sure my experience is wonderful. On Wed. they have a reception for all the guests as a way to say thanks for staying. I always feel comfortable and welcome at this hotel.

the sheraton iowa city staff was very friendly and helpful. it was a very clean and comfortable hotel. the area was very good as there were other restaurants, coffee shop, etc. nearby. also, malls were very close.

Rooms in poor condition. Way over priced. Charged $18 for parking when I didn't even have a vehicle.

This hotel is located in downtown Iowa City. Close to shopping, dining, and business all in walking distance. Great hotel, great staff. I really enjoyed my stay, would do it again.

Location in downtown pedestrian mall. Pool closed, again. Hotel is currently undergoing a renovation. New lobby, pool area, etc. Front desk was very nice. Alway busy - especially during football season. Elevator floor indicator off by one floor. Employee on elevator didn't seem to care. Was a big deal to me and others who got off on wrong floor several times during stay.

I wouldn't acll this hotel old just more experienced! They really understand what customer service is and know how to take care of their guests.

Small room was just the right size since I was there alone. Room was both quiet and clean. The pool looked great(didn't have time to enjoy it)Location was excellent it was in the heart of downtown in walking distance of food, shopping, historic places, school, etc. Yes I would definately come here again.

Good location, central to all local attractions. Renovations in progress, dust and dirt flying. Nice experience, but the in-process renovations tainted my stay. Front desk clerk first stuck me in a dusty and musty room right across from the area under renovation, complete with loud power tools. I had to complain in order to be re-assigned to a room on an unaffected floor.

"This is a perfectly good hotel. It's close to downtown and the University. But if you're not in Iowa City for University business, this a poor choice because of the expense. There's just nothing special enough about it to warrant such an excessive rate."

The Iowa City Sheraton had a great location near the university and right on a pretty pedestrian mall. Lots of resturants around. the staff was very friendly and helpful. In hotel resturants food quality was good-a little pricey I thought. The room was very clean and well stocked and housekeeping did a good job. Didn't use the pool or other amenities so can't comment on that. Good stay.

I do not recommend this hotel. I usally stay at Sheraton's because of their beds. This hotel was so filthy that I didn't want to touch the bed/floor/bathroom. Needs a serious cleaning and remodel.

Have stayed here before. In the midst of the pedestrian mall in downtown Iowa City. Very clean and in excellent condition. Beds are very comfortable. Did not use the pool or other facilities. Easy walk to multiple restaurants and bars, as well as U. of Iowa. Restaurant is acceptable overall, but good Sunday breakfast.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean.
