Date of Stay:
February, 2008
The walls in our bedroom had no pictures or portraits. It was simply a bare room with beds and although there was a desk, there wasn't a chair! And, finally, they don't offer a hair dryer as in most hotels these days in their very cramped bathroom. As a frequent flyer and experienced business traveler, I expected better from a Sheraton-class hotel. I guess I was wrong.

Very nice beds and bedding-comfortable room. Shower door fell off track on to my toe-a real painful surprise. Great location to Washington University. Very comfortable room and well appointed.

Everything leading up the actual room was great. Nice and comfortable. Great location. Pool was clean. But the room was tiny. Very small for the price we paid. I would never stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights, and we never had our room made up, even though we called and requested it before the second night. No fan in bathroom. The front desk staff was friendly, but ill informed. Overall hotel, especially lower floors where parking was accessed through, were in poor condition. Would not stay again.

The jacuzzi was still not functioning. I stayed in December and it was not working. Kids were wild and unsupervised at the pool making it difficult for families to enjoy the pool. Walls in rooms are paper thin.

Comfortable bed, great location, good service. Small bathroom.

Traveled with my wife and two children under 4 and had a wonderful experience. The physical plant is new, clean and well maintained, including the heated indoor pool. For a minmal charge we upgraded to a junior sutie: no hassel, no strings, no hidden charges. The full transaction including new room assignment and keys in hand took maybe 15 minutes. The upgrade entitled us to use of the club lounge, which for the kids was among the highlights of the trip. It features a big, well stocked breakfast buffet in the mornings and an equally well stocked happy-hour with lots of snacks for the kids....all FREE. We became best friends with the lounge attendants X and X, who provided simply outstanding service.

No business center that works: They have a pod of computers covered in crumbs from children playing games. I was unable to open and print a Word document from my Yahoo even though they had Word installed on the machine. Staff was unable to print from their computer. When asking for an updated bill after the stay - none of their fax machines work. Single double bed room was micro in size, but did not have musty smell like another hotel in Clayton. Clayton is a nice area for business/family and hotel is secure. Staff was helpful in spending lots of time to resolve computer/fax issues but also wasted hours of my time.

The Sheraton only partially met my expectations. When first pulling in the bell man was not very pleasent and he seemed confussed as if he wasn't sure what we were supposed to do with our vehicle if we wanted to check in. Our room was directly above the in door pool and we were awaken by the sound of children playing in the pool all three mornings. Although the lobby lounge had a good selection of food and drinks, it would have been nice if it were open later. Other than that, the room was always very clean (the housekeeping staff was friendly), I found the business center very usefull and the location was great.

Staff were very friendly. Air conditioner fan was deafening. Got there too late to change rooms. We were miserable. Hotel location was fine but did not expect to pay so much for parking. The air-conditioning fan was so loud we were miserable.

Booked on internet. Wished I would've read reviews first! 2 families with children checked in right before us. Were told they only had 1 Kind Bed, but would bring in roll a way bed. We were told we had a double room, when I had booked a King. They offered us a King, but told us it was handicapped accessible. When we went to the room, it smelled of urine. Went back to the desk and took the original double. Very disappointed! No bathtub. Porcelain in bathroom broken and chipped. Bottled water in room that I thought was complimentary had a note on it stating we would be charged $3.50 if opened. Room very small. Bed uncomfortable. Turned on air conditioner to 64, and still wouldn't cool down. As I was trying to put on make-up, my compact mirror kept fogging up from the humidity in the room. $14.00 charge for hotel guest parking. I expected a much nicer room for the price.

The hotel was well-decorated and the amenities in the room were nice. But the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the pillows strangely cheap. Charging for parking at a hotel that is not downtown is outrageous and the /day for the internet is just silly. It would somehow be less annoying if it were rolled into the price. The room rate was okay until I felt like I was getting nickled and dimed at every corner.

The Sheraton Clayton Plaza was in a very convenient location for our trip. Unfortunately, we did not feel it was sufficiently maintained for the cost of staying there. Upon arrival, the only two elevators for the entire hotel were not operating correctly. One elevator wasn't even operating at all. If you did not want to take the stairs up to your room on the 12th floor, you had to be prepared for a wait. It took us about 30 minutes of waiting in line to finally get a turn. It was also extremely hot inside the lobby. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom really had no place to keep toiletries and the whole inside of the bathrub was chipping paint.

Clean. Parking fee. Great hotel but very expensive parking.

i was stuck in st louis during a snow storm trying to get out of st louis airport. front desk staff was nice enough to stay on the phone and talk me through directions to get to hotel (almost 30 min). everyone went out of their way to help me and make me feel comfortable. ernie the bellman was great and very helpful as well.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I did not like that there was an additional parking fee on top of the nightly rate. The hotel was great! Very nice rooms clean and comfortable. The staff at the hotel was very informative and helpful to first time St. Louis visitors. Large indoor pool that was a hit with my children. We really liked the safety precautions taken by the hotel by having to use your room keys to access everything from the elevators to the pool. The only down side there was an additional $14.00 parking fee that you had to pay there was no other option for parking.

I came here with my wife for shopping and business. Check-in was slow. Staff unfamilar with local restaurants. Parking was * /night even though gate was up the whole time. Club level rooms were small. Treadmills were old and of poor quality. Hallways were musty.Bath rooms were dirty and bath porclein broken. Overpriced considering that the Crown Plaza which We stayed at last year was nicer and cheaper. Do Not stay here unles it is renovated.

The location was great. Very close to the interstate and dining. The rooms were too small and not well kept. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful. The pool and the fitness facility were great! The guest rooms were small and not cleaned well by housekeeping. We had a stain on our wall and stains on the dust ruffles of the beds. There were also two black mildew stains in the shower grout.

They have a nice lobby, the room was mostly clean, but needed some maintenance. Parking is convenient, but an extra $15 per day. This is obviously an older hotel with which had recently been renovated. The renovation of the rooms was done as cheaply as possible, but the lobby was done well. This place should be nice for corporate meetings, but I wouldn't stay there again. If it wasn't for the strategic location in a highly corporate neighborhood, I don't know if they could charge their rate.
Date of Stay:

The room was plush! On the phone, no one would help me with getting 2 beds (but in person they did). Lovely hotel, luxurious accommodations, very friendly and helpful staff. I felt very comfortable here.
