My wife and I were in Indianapolis to attend the USA Swimming National Championship. The Sheraton was a sponsor and recommended by Orbitz. Great location in the city. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and walking distance to the pool. No rental car needed! We have attended several swimming events in Indianapolis, but this was our first time staying at the Sheraton. We normally stay at one of the Marriott's but our son, the swimmer is a Starwood member, staying at the Sheraton so we joined him and his wife! Our big disappointment was Friday night after his last swim! We went to St Elmo's Steak House for a late supper, and returned to the Sheraton at 10:50 to have a QUIET evening of cocktails in their lounge only to discover it was last call!!!!!!! The bartender did accommodate our request and told us the bar normally closes at 11 PM if there are no customers. At 5 after 11, several hotel guests showed up ready to also have a late night cocktail, but .......... We had our one cocktail and went to bed. We could have gone to several lounges in the area, one of which was the Marriott. (I am a Silver member) If you are planning to have a late supper and return to the Sheraton for a late cocktail on any night during your stay, I would suggest you make sure the Lounge is open before you make your reservation. Sheraton,

Close to everything downtown, lots of choices. Security of elevator access to rooms concerning. This is a wonderful hotel, older, but well maintained and very comfortable. Lobby is large and inviting. Room was clean and well arranged.

We stayed at the Sheraton for 4 days and 3 nights. Don't have alot of nice things to say. The staff was uninformed about the city, nobody could tell us directions or suggest places to eat. The room was small, the thermostat obviously wasn't working. When we got there the room was at a comfortable temperature but I tried to turn it down for the night and although the temperature on the thermostat read 69 degrees it sure didnt feel like it. The next day I moved it down to 62 and still nothing happened. We had to wait several minutes for the elevator to come to a stop at our floor. Sometimes as long as 20 minutes. IT was not that busy this weekend and the elevators kept passing us up on the way down and never stopped. I worked out in the 24 hour fitness room which was ok but not big enough for a hotel this size, the business area had 3 computers that were as old as Indianapolis was. I wanted to take the stairs and they were locked. I inquired as to why would you lock a staircase, their answer was that the engineer had the key. I asked them what they did in case of a fire and they said it was ok because the door opens when your on the inside of the stairwell. GREAT, how do the firemen get into the stairwell though? Just all around poor service, don't recommend staying here, there are much nicer hotels for the same rate and closer to more attractions.

The rooms have the feel of a modular home constructed overnight. Walls are two inches thick. When locking the door to my room, it seemed as though someone with a good head of steam could knock the entire wall down much less the door. Not a safe feeling at all. Great big flat screen tv but an analog picture--what's the point?

Good location, lovely view of the downtown. Short walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Staff was efficient, courteous, and welcoming. In room safe and magnifying mirror was absent. Most hotels today have that. It was unusual not to. Breakfast at the hotel was very convenient and had great choices for everyones needs.

My mom came to visit me because I live in Indianapolis, and we wanted a nice weekend stay and the Sheraton was perfect for us, we had a wonderful time and this is a weekend I'll remember for the rest of my life. The Sheraton could not have been more helpful. Even the toiletries were nice. It exceeded my expectations.

This Sheraton does not match up very well with other Sheraton locations: needs to be renovated - looking a little tired, my room was not fully made when I checked in - hide-a-bed was open and cushions were scattered on the floor, the parking garage gate was broken for all three days of my stay - I needed to buzz the concierge to come outside and open the gate each time I left the hotel parking lot. I was also a little surprised to have to pay for wireless access in my room; many hotels include this in the price of the room. On the positive side, the location is excellent and is centrally located.

The location was great compared to downtown. Parking and lobby store. Overall the hotel was good for me because it was located in the heart of downtown. But parking was ridiculous in the hotel lot and a 4 pack of Oreo's was 6.28. I could buy 3 normal size cartons of Oreos with that. They overpriced everything. Absolutely ridiculous.
