The stay was great, but the staff unhelpful. My daughter and I had to be at the airport at 5:00 a.m. and were told the the "shuttle" would arrive every 55 minutes of the hour. It never came and the desk person would not call to check on the shuttle. He gave me the number and I had to use my cell phone, which was long distance and roaming. This expense after the cost of $200.00 for the room? The cost of the shuttle would have been $13.00 per person. I ended up paying $40.00 for a cab. NICE. Thanks Sheraton.

Friendly staff. No ice machine on my floor - had to take elevator to another.

Pro:It is nice that there is free internet service in the lobby if you are the hotel guest. Con: It's horrendous that the hotel charges Parking for $25(valet) or $13 per day.

Was in town for the first time for a family party but didn't want to stay at the family ranch... Picked this hotel after researching online and it was mostly great. The only bad thing about the room was that it smelled like stale smoke--it was supposed to be non-smoking! Front desk clerk was helpful, efficient--even at midnight! Housekeeping was a little slow--I returned to my room at 3 in the afternoon and it hadn't been cleaned yet. Was an overall good experience, but I happened to be there during a Mary K convention--the lobby was crowded, the elevators were extremely busy at times, and they set off the fire alarm once or twice. Neighborhood was a little scary at night and in early morning. Old Sac, a mall and the state capitol are all in walking distance.

My husband and I took a 2 day getaway to Sacramento and our stay at the Sheraton was so comfy we almost didn't want to leave our room. It is in a nice neighborhood, within walking distance to the capitol and many restaurants. Next time we go to Sac we will definitely be staying at the Sheraton Grand.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Compared to other hotels in the area, it was more expensive. This hotel is in an excellent location for the convention center. It is directly across the street and an easy walk. Also your car is parked for the day and you do not have to hunt for a lot. The staff was helpful and courteous.

This was a Christmas visit to family; more like a business stay as far as the hotel was concerned. Arrangements made through Online Travel Website were honored contractually by the hotel, but with obvious lack of enthusiasm. The first room they assigned us to was a handicapped room; front desk somehow didn't know that. Handicapped rooms have no decor, a low-mounted closet rods, huge bathroom that consumes a larger than usual proportion of the room's square footage, etc. Front desk response to our complaint was, "Well, it's a non-smoking king like you asked for." They did give us another room, which was a basic hotel room with ordinary business desk (pay extra for internet in your room) and very comfortable mattress (pillow top, soft surface, excellent support for an average weight couple, good isolation from sleepmate's movements). By comparison, a much less expensive booking at the same hotel through hotwire.com 2 years ago yielded a larger, pleasanter room and no attitude from the front desk. Cleanliness and general maintenance of the room and public areas was excellent. Self-parking across the street was easy, convenient and 13/day. I had quick, free access to the business center (Christmas night) to access my airline, check in and print our boarding passes. Internet usage appears to be free there. We didn't ask for any other hotel services, so can't evaluate them.

This was our first stay at this hotel, we usually stay at the Westin St. Francis in Union Square. If I had to choose between the two I would pick this hotel, it was in a great location, within walking distance to the mall and all other kind of shops the rooms were great and as always you have gotta love their beds............ I think our only complaint would be that they should serve breakfast until 11 a.m. not 10:30 a.m. and on Sundays they should have a brunch..... But other than that we loved it there!

I would recommend this hotel because of it's close proximity to the Convention Center, bars, other hotels, and restaurants. It was a little pricey but it's well worth the money.

My 11-year-old daughter and I stayed overnight and found everything very attractive and comfortable. The hotel had a great list of restaurants nearby, so we could order food by phone and then go pick it up. The hotel is right downtown, within walking distance of the capitol building, many stores, and a lovely old cathedral, and not far from Old Sacramento, which is a great place for children (train museum, history museum, old-fashioned train ride, etc.). We were on an upper floor, so we had a beautiful view of the city (and a free continental breakfast).

I liked that it was clean and located in downtown and close to everything.

The one-way streets in Downtown Sac can be confusing for the first-time visitor, although it is on a grid. We arrived at the hotel just to drop off our things and pick up the keys. The valets let us keep the car out front while we ran in, which was nice. We opted for parking on our own rather than paying the 21 but I'm not sure how safe the neighborhood really is after hours (I've heard mixed reactions from our local friends). We were there on a Sat. into Sun. (The meters are free on Sundays.) The room itself was typical: two double beds (not queen), chair, desk, TV, phone (even local, guest services-directed calls are charged it turns out). The one feature I loved about it was the cushioned window seat. The one feature I hated about it was the bathroom didn't seem to have a fan (or that great of HVAC). Check-out didn't work on the TV system so I had to go downstairs and hand back the keys the old-fashioned way. This hotel is centrally located to the action of Sacramento, but not really close on either end. It seemed a bit far from Old Town and was still a short cab ride (which you should have the valets get for you; don't call guest services) to restaurants and the interesting part of downtown. (Look for the guy who plays music in his blue converted truck!)

We got the ROMANCE PACKAGE which stated upon arrival that we would have a cheese tray and a bottle of wine waiting for us. We called ahead to let them know we'd be late. We arrived and no one knew what we where talking about. On the internet ad it said a cheese tray and wine would be waiting for us in our CLUB room upon arrival. Also included in the ROMANCE PACKAGE: a bottle of champagne and either chocolate or fruit. Also breakfast for two the next day, and by staying on the club room floor access to the CLUB room w/ appetizers and drinks ( *...! more then the bar downstairs..nice touch). I called room service when we arrived, talked to the front desk and no one had a clue what I was talking about. Room service said they didn't know what I was talking about either or even what the internet says about your ROMANCE PACKAGE and that their amenities change daily. After complaining a cheese tray came after a hour wait. We did get champagne and chocolate earlier but I wanted this to be a surprise to my partner and upon arrival no one tried to understand what I was talking about and all where unaware of any ROMANCE PACKAGE. I got so upset I cried. It was a long travel and all we needed was a little comfort that I thought we had paid for. After that long 6 hour drive I was treated with incompetence and treated like a fool. The CLUB room had alot to be desired....! vegetables were wilted and stale and old cheese was sweating and scarce (just bits and leftovers) all cookies were gone on the crumb filled tray and hot appetizers were not very appetizing to look at.

Great downtown location with restaurants, coffee shops, etc. close by. The hotel and staff were great. We tried the restaurant and lounge and both were very good. They provide valet or reasonable self parking across the street.

From the minute you pull up to the valet parking ($21 per night) to the minute they re-load your baggage this hotel is all about service. It is comfortable and very well located. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful on our visit

Very-very nice hotel. They combined the old Sacramento Public market with a new high-rise hotel...wonderful! Great staff too. You only one block from the Capitol and your also connected to the K Street shopping mall... Great place to stay!

Wonderful lobby and bar. Noise from adjacent suite. An elegant hotel, noise emanated until 3:00 am. Calls to hotel management had little effect.
