Very nice staff, ok breakfast, GREAT location, parking ok. Problem with the room - room leaked rainwater, sliding door wouldn't close, couldn't read the settings on the thermostat (numbers), GREAT Huge bathtub but it was peeling and the drain didn't work. Very clean and comfortable other than that! I will stay there again, but will get a better room.

Proximity to tourist attractions. Close to loud bars (not a problem if on parking lot side of hotel).

OK rooms, fantastic location for business travel and lots of nearby restaurants.

Room was basically clean, but not thoroughly clean. Shoes from previous guest were under one bed and empty shampoo bottle under the other. Great location for Charleston and beaches.

The view overlooking the marsh and cooper bridge. NoAC in the hallways, hot. Enjoyed our stay, surrounded by nice rest and on the inner coastal waterway. Rooms were clean, hallways could use a little cleaning along with AC. Overall we had a nice time.

The hotel was a nice place and worth the price that we paid. Convenient to Charleston if you don't mind driving into the city. The lobby was very small but the check in process and staff was friendly. The room was large, clean and well decorated with a balcony overlooking the marsh and parking lot. No hairdyer but there was an iron. There were restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was included and was ok- cereal, donuts, bagels, toaster waffles, coffee and juice. Would have liked a choice of fruit/ yogurt but this was fine. The pool looked nice but it was December and we did not try it out.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. From the outside it looked kind of run down but inside was very nice. When we first arrived it looked older but it was very clean and the young men on duty were very helpful to us. It was a little hard to find the entrance but we both liked this motel.

We were disappointed in this inn. The location is great but only barely acceptable as far as accommadations went. Very small area for breakfast and that was limited in scope. We wouldn't return.

Great location with many restruant choice in walking distance. Sitting out by the pool you look over the creek and enjoy the boats and dolphins as they swim by. Great friendly staff.

This hotel feels like a retreat! Away from a lot of traffic and staff is extremely nice! This is a great place to stay, and it is a plus that it is not expensive. Loved it!

Enjoyed everything about this place. Thing we appreciated the most was that it is within walking distance to some very good seafood restaurants. Even though it was November, the outdoor bar next door was open and had heaters going. This is not a luxury hotel, but the rooms are big and decorated beautifully. We found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. If you stay here, remember to bring your own hairdryer.

The rooms facing the water have a great view. Dolphin watching was fun. The marsh view (parking lot)rooms were a joke, so I recommend the upgrade to the waterside. Very convienent to the fishing boats, you are right there. Kind of noisey with alot of drunks raising caine when we were there. The bar across the creek (Reds) stays open very late & is LOUD. A great place for a stay if you dont bring the kids.

Location was perfect for both privacy as well as proximity to attractions. We were able to hear people moving around in neighboring rooms very easily. The Shem Creek Inn was a very accommodating hotel with very nice guest rooms and a great location for people looking for someplace tucked away from a busy area but also in relative distance to attractions. Very good for someone looking to engage in a fun night life with four restaurant/bars in close proximity.

The views of the marsh and the harbor are great, really relaxing. The hotel itself is a little older but pretty well-kept. The rooms are decent, with all the usual amenities except for possibly hair dryers (don't know, no longer have any hair to dry!), plus micro-fridges in each room. The bedding and linens aren't on par with the bigger upscale chains, but then neither is the price or the location! On the downside, there is no fitness facility, and the really cramped breakfast area limits itself to doughnuts, muffins/bagels etc, toaster waffles, and cereal. They could really use some yogurt, fresh fruit, healthier things. Walking distance to several very good restaurants & fun bars.

Loved the Charleston area but it was great to stay in Mt Pleasant.

The location was great. The staff was friendly. Nothing. This hotel was the perfect spot to stay. The atmosphere was awesome. Plenty of places right next door to eat or have a drink. Pool over-looked harbor. Dolphin were jumping in the harbor. Just really great. I would definitely stay again.

The place is old but clean. Usually did not have extra towels. Breakfast is ceral and doughnuts. The area is okay but for the money I would stay elsewhere.

The Shem Creek Inn , is an older renovated hotel just across the bridge on Sullivan Island outside of Charleston. It has a convenient location to get in and out of Charleston, and a short ride to the beaches. There are restaurants around the hotel , that vary from family friendly to casual, to upscale. Definetely more in the casual side. The location sits in an area around the marshes. We looked at the dirt parking lot. That was a dissapointment. The rooms were clean and up to date, but the hallways needed vaccuuming. A breaakfast was provided in your room charge , but it did not match the quality of food, or sitting space to eat that most chain hotels offer for that service. The front desk help was accomadating. As they do not have computer access for customers, they willingly looked up restaurants and directions, but were not as knowledgable as I would have liked. It definitely appeared to be a locally owned hotel, with their own standards. It is a good hotel if you are going mainly to sleep and want a good location. If you are looking for multiple amentities and a good place to spend part of your day relaxing this is not the place.

We enjoyed the location, (Shem Creek). You could sit at the pool and watch the boats come in. This hotel was between Downtown Charleston and the beach at the Isle of Palms. There were several restaurants within walking distance and we loved out stay.
