we really enjoyed the friendly and professional staff

The staff, especially Greg, were very friendly and helpful. A refrigerator in the room would have been nice. The Seven Gables Inn was a very nice hotel for my husband and I to spend our anniversary. We arrived at the hotel very late and Greg was helpful, he even recommend a great take out place for a very late dinner! We enjoyed our stay there, but would have liked a refrigerator in the room. The decor was beautiful and the bed was comfy. The continental breakfast was wonderful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

A very charming hotel with wonderful staff. We had a problem with our room and the staff bent over backwards to make things right.

We reserved 14 rooms for a spring wedding 2008. We had a very difficult time contacting the management before the event and during the stay to discuss and confirm reservations and plans. The inn itself is charming and the rooms are lovely but the amazingly bad service canceled all the good things. 3 of our 14 "confirmed" rooms were unavailable when our guests arrived and they were sent elsewhere. We stayed 5 days and our room and bathroom were not cleaned once. We had to go downstairs to pick up clean towels when we needed them and we never received new toiletries . Our room keys worked one or two times then we had to go down, 3 flights, to get new ones. Sadly 3 of our guests discovered things missing from their rooms, including one womans I.D. and one of the bridesmaids bridal gifts from the bride. Finally, a month later, as our credit card bills are coming in, we and at least 2 of our guests are discovering overcharges for rooms & parking, major mistakes on our bill including 3 nights stay charged to one of our credit cards that we did not use at the inn. Obviously we never signed for these charges and they were not authorized but they are on our bill ! Now we are again trying to deal with that same unresponsive, defensive, unhelpful manager to try to get these billing problems cleared up. If you are wise... don"t stay at the 7 Gables Inn...if you have stayed there...check your credit card bills carefully. Signed, Mother-of-the Bride

Typical of Inns, they are charming and friendly. However, i felt the room was not up to snuff for the price and reputation it used to have. It was dark, musty and ventilation system noisy and not effective. The bar/restaurant was nice for lunch, which i ended up spending a lot of time at because i had to wait 2 hours for my room.

The bath tub was stained and awful. The hotel was nice on the out-side but the room did not live up to our expectations. However the staff was very friendly.

The 7 Gables is about 1.75 hours from our home. We like St. Louis and decided to try a boutique hotel listed in our guide. It was wonderful. The location is superb, parking is easy, the room with a king bed was lovely, and the hotel was quiet. The complementary breakfast was varied and good. The afternoon cookies are a real treat. Hotel desk staff learned our names, secured reservations for us, provided useful information about places to visit, etc. and treated us with exceptional courtesy. We have reservations to go back this spring, this time with friends. It's a good value.

The Inn was a great place to stay. I'd recommend it to friends and family alike. Spectacularly comfortable pillowtop mattresses enveloped in luxurious sheets, beautiful decor, and great service are the highlights. Breakfast was good, too. There are several restaurants a block away, and it's a very safe and clean part of town with a nice park within a short walking distance. My highest recommendation!

I did not eat in the hotel as I was visiting friends but the room, although not large was updated and clean and the bed and pillows wonderfully comfortable. Pillows are very important to me and they were the best. The location was right downtown in my friends area so was most convenient. Staff were most pleasant.

It was quaint without being a bed and breakfast The windows didn't open.

Negative: Very unprofessional and impersonal - partly too young associates! You may see them eating around instead of cherish guests! The courtyard is unorganized and dirty- a real pity; complimantary cheese display was moldy for days. No guests in own restaurant - full restaurants around! Positive: Clean room

The hotel is very historic building located in the area, where is the center of the city. However, you do not fell like city's noise, crowd. Maybe, we were there on Saturday. Still, it is hard to find a place in the center of the city, but such quiet and European taste hotel.

Convenient location. This is a boutique hotel that would be better suited for a long weekend get-away rather than business trip. The shower water pressure was terrible. This is a very old building and it's age is showing.

Very friendly staff, everyone was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. Comfortable atmosphere, great location for dining and site seeing. Small rooms. Staff was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. The atmosphere of this hotel was very welcoming. Rooms were nice however smaller than what we are used to.

The location cannot be beat. Several restaurants in walking distance. No elevator. This is a charming boutique hotel in a perfect location. Aveda toiletries and small but great breakfast assortment.

Friendly staff, wine in the afternoon, cookies and tea at night. Room didn't have much natural light. Seven Gables Inn is my favorite hotel to stay at for business in Clayton. The staff is wonderful and the accommodations are spot on. There are many places to eat and drink around the hotel and easy parking too.

Quiet, accommodating staff. Limited breakfast selection. Seven Gables Inn is a quiet establshment, well located, with a knowledgeable and helpful staff and a solid selection of services for a hotel of it's size.
