A very contemporary "French" hotel in French Canadian Quebec.
Date of Stay:
September, 2008
It was clean. Breakfast was too costly - for what is $9.95. The hotel was clean - no one told us we need a reservation for dinner the first night. No dinner. We were on the train from 8 to 4 pm.

This "motel-style" hotel is conveniently located at the entrance to the city of Quebec, but it is only good if you are just looking for a place to sleep with a roof over your head. Their front desk at night was not helpful at all and she told us there were no extra pillows or blankets for our kids. Their ice machine and vending machines were out of order. Though they offer complimentary high-speed internet, there were no outlets easily accessible--we had to crawl under the desk and unplug all of their light fixtures to access them for our laptops, cell phones and other electronics with rechargeable batteries. Front desk during the day was more helpful and she was fairly nice. I feel it doesn't justify to give this hotel three stars. It should be one star.

Comfortable, clean, upscale, quiet and friendly. Abit far from most attractions, but they had a cheap shuttle. Way more than was expected. A very fancy looking and comfortable room. They may have had one, but we didn't find an elevator to get to our room. It was a little complicated to find, we were a bit unprepared with directions, but once we figured out how to get to and from the old city, it was about a 20 minutes drive. Staff was very helpful. They do have a free shuttle in the summer season, but another shuttle off season for only $2. We didn't use it, but would if we stayed again as parking in Old Quebec was expensive. I would definately stay again when in Quebec. One side note, the in-room coffee cost money it seemed. Most guests received a paper and a juice in the morning, but we did not, not sure why.

I stayed at the Hotel Sepia in May 2008 and was blown away by the experience. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location perfect if you are willing to take a 10 minute bus ride into town. I can't wait to come back to this hotel and to Quebec City!

Hotel Sepia was not what I had expected. It wasn't luxurious . However, for what it lacked in luxury, it made up for in cleanliness and polite, friendly, curteous staff. For the price I think it was well worth the stay and would stay there again.

The furnishings are pretty, lobby is very attractive. Pillows are very uncomfortable, my daughter and I had a hard time sleeping on them. The hotel is attractively furnished, but it is really just an old Travelodge that has been upgraded - except for the tub/shower in our room. The location is right next to a howdy, although our room was pretty quiet. It is not far by car to View Quebec and there is plenty of parking in the city. The hotel was offering a shuttle to the festival (Quebec 400 and) although we did not use it. We did not use the pool - it has a view of the highway.

The Sepia was a lovely hotel. Tastefully decorated, easy location, very clean, nice outdoor pool for a quick escape - and close to the city. Free parking - and if you looked around on St. Louis Chemin almost anything you needed could be located. One tiny drawback - no place in the bathroom to leave toiletries, a narrow little shelf along the wall just didn't do it - but the hotel was every bit a value for your dollar. I will return again my next visit to Old Quebec.

Staff was very helpful, rooms were spacious, location was good. Parking was very expensive. Overall nice place to stay, staff is very helpful, rooms are spacious, location is 10 - 15 minutes off from the main attractions and restaurants, parking is quite expensive at $20 per day.

Hotel had easy access to most of the major rodeways. Our room seemed small, but had all that was needed. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The design was very chic and modern, the location was convenient. The bed and pillows were somewhat uncomfortable. We stayed for three nights and were very happy with the accommodations. It was close by to the Downtown area and was easy to get to. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was fantastic. Service was friendly and accommodating. Hotel was very clean. My only wish was that the bed had been more comfortable, it was very firm and the pillows were firm as well, and I prefer softer and more plush but that might just be a bit of a personal preference.

Clean, chic. Room was small. Staff was helpful; it's a clean, modern facility. Coloring and decoration was exceptional.

The room is spacious and nice. The room is not cleaned in time everyday. This is a good hotel with reasonable price. It is clean, nice and staff at front desk can speak English. The room is very large and bed is comfortable. It is also convenient to old down town by bus. The only thing is that they don't provide complimentary breakfast in the morning. You have to pay for the breakfast buffet which is not very good one. The restaurant is not close to the hotel so sometimes you have to eat there only. All in all, it is a good one and worth going again.

Very clean and modern. Free parking. 20 minute drive or so to old Quebec City. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Ample free parking with good access to rooms. Front Desk staff are bilingual and very courteous. Outdoor pool, however we did not use it (no time). Easy access to and from highways from Montreal. Approximate 20 minute drive to Old Quebec City, however they do offer a free shuttle which runs throughout the day.
