This hotel was formerly called Oasis Viva Beach when we stayed. During that time it was under construction, however the construction didn't affect our stay. This is a great hotel for the money we paid. All rooms face the ocean so everyone has a beautiful view! The room was nothing spectacular but it was clean. Had some issues exchanging currency at the front desk as when checking out we couldn't exchange our pesos back to U.S. dollars. Make sure you take advantage of the buses, can't beat the price and you can get just about anywhere you want to go. The buses are one of the main reasons we choose Cancun! The food and drinks were average. Never tried the restaurants that required reservations, however heard that the food was good. The buffets seem to look the same after awhile, but pleanty of choices. As far as the pool goes, the early bird get the lounge chairs! Usually all are saved with towels by 9:00am. The ocean and beach are nice here. Very soft, white sand. We usually just hung out at the pool or beach all day. The only problem we had was our tub drained VERY SLOW although we never notified anyone about it. All in all we had a wonderful time and enjoyed this hotel. We plan on staying here on our next vacation to Cancun. Looking forward to seeing the finished construction.
