Date of Stay:

The breakfast was great. I enjoyed the roof top sun deck even though it was a cloudy day. This was a great feature. Location is excellent, right next to Water Tower Place and the John Hancock Bldg, and great shopping.

Lots of storage and space. The bathroom was a little too small.

This is an old fashioned hotel (some people like it that way). It's clean and neat and it's in a central location just off the 'mile'. Many rooms have a kitchen area/microwave/fridge, which could be a benefit (particularly the fridge). No frills but pricing and location are good and I'd stay here again.

I go with a group of girls every year to Chicago..We have stayed at The Seneca Hotel three times now and would stay there again. The rooms are clean and very large, the beds are very comfortable. The Seneca is a great location. One block away from Michigan Ave and very close to Rush Street. We would indeed stay there again.

This hotel was great to stay in. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to our suite. We could not believe that we were staying in a suite for the price we were paying. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. It was easy to get to shopping on Michigan Ave., trolley rides, bus stop and other attractions. We (2 women) felt very safe walking back to the hotel even after dark. I would definitely stay here again as well as recommend it to friends.

Great hotel and wonderful room. Just be cautious of the expensive parking!

Vintage building with modern features. Felt like a trip back in time. Very small restroom is hard to get in and out and use toilet.

We had a suite at the Senecca, very spacious and well appointed. Lively cocktail bar within the hotel which is great for a drink before or after a night out. Ideal location next the Hancock Building and very close to Magnificent Mile. Would recommend this hotel and this great city.

We stayed 3 nights. Everyone at the hotel was friendly, professional, helpful. Cleaning done to high standards. Comfortable bed. Slept well, even away from home. The room had a stove, full frig, microwave, big sink, dishes and silverware for four, pots and pans, and coffeemaker. This made it possible to save money on meals. Trader Joe's nearby so groceries were easy to come by. The hotel is one block away from the Hancock Center and Water Tower Place. I spilled on my blouse and was happy to have laundry facilities available in the hotel. Hair salon and restaurants in the hotel. Only complaint: bathroom outlet not functioning. I liked the security. Room key required to get past the lobby. Would have been nice if a business center was available for guests with computers, printer, fax, copy machine. This was an excellent value. Will definitely stay here again next time I have to be in Chicago.

The Seneca Hotel was outstanding. The staff was courteous and professional. We had a one bedroon suite that was very spacious and comfortable. Hotel is near Michigan Ave but far enough away to be very quiet.

The hotel has a great location for sure. Old facilities. A decent hotel though.

We arrived at the hotel at 2pm and found out the room we had originally booked was upgraded from one queensize bedroom to a three room suite. We had a kitchen, living room with tv, a large kingsize bedroom with tv and a large bathroom with two sinks, drawers, and a jetted tub. It was very clean and we also had three closets. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with hints of things to do. We also ate breakfast every morning at the hotel. They even had grits. The hotel is located one block off Michigan Avenue and two blooks from Lake Michigan. We would stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend of the St. Patricks day Parade. I found that the location was great. It is very close to Michigan Ave. and all the stores. A cab ride anywhere downtown is like 5 bucks. If you go to the museums though its more like 12-15 dollars for a cab ride and the museums are not very good. The room itself was smaller, but with a kitchenette which is great. The TV was small and the bathrooms were outdated but clean. It did have a jet tub for baths. The room smelled as if it were older, but clean. It took a while for the heat to kick on but worked great. The staff was great. The front desk gave me a number of a flourist before we came so I could have flowers waiting for my wife. Flowers were expensive, and I wanted them in my room waiting, but instead they were waiting at the fornt desk. This was because they dont gaurentee you a room until three o clock. The views from the room are not the greatest, but then again we didnt spend alot of time in the room. The doormen will flag a cab for you so you dont have too. All in all it was a good trip. I would stay here again becuase it was convienent, but a little pricey...mostly because of the weekend I picked. Hope this review helps...oh year if you fly into O'Hare, take the CTA blue Line to the Red Line and up to Chicago stop. You can get a cab from there to go to hotel or its a 7 minute walk. Its on the corner of Chicago and state streets and not far from the hotel.

From the minute we stepped into the lobby, the hotel was impressive. Our recently remodeled room, including a full kitchenette and beautiful bathroom was lovely. The location was excellent, it was close enough to walk to most things we wanted to do, and if walking wasn't possible, there was lots of public transportation nearby. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I knew visiting Chicago.

The location of The Seneca is great. It is a 5 minute walk to the shore, 20 minutes to The Navy Pier and just off The Miracle Mile shopping district. The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well cleaned. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that we found somewhat dissappointing or maybe odd. We had to pay to use the internet on a computer tucked away on the 2nd floor. It is an easy mod-con to have a computer or two in the lobby for guests, who don't travel with laptops. The plumbing was in serious need of updating. Whenever the toilet was flushed water came pouring out of the back pipes and the sink faucet also had a terrible leak. There were a lot of light switches that didn't seem to work any main lights. The decor was a bit old fashioned but, not enough to be considered retro. All in all, it was a nice stay in a place in need of new wiring, plumbing and general updating. We would probably stay there again at the right price.

We were in town for a wedding, the hotel was perfect. Big beautiful suite, clean, comfortable. The staff was extremelyhelpful with any and every request. Close to everything, shopping, great restaurants with in a 2 minute walk. All sites and muesems are a short taxi ride or walk away. Nice rooftop patio. Quiet street, close to lake. We travel alot and we found this hotel to our high standards at an eexcellent price. Will stay ther again next trip.

The room was fabulous, be sure to request an upgraded room, the manager is gracious. The valet parking is too expensive. Our stay at the Seneca was wonderful. We played phone tag with the manager regarding some questions and he graciously upgraded us to a wonderful suite. He was very accommodating in all ways during our stay. The location is perfect, you're right in the midst of downtown and close to everything. Right off the beach. The gym was great. Didn't eat at the restaurants but they seemed like they would be lovely.
