The hotel is a long way from city center. About 20 min walk however the trams stop is just around the corner. There are few nice bars and clubs in the area. The breakfast was basic but okay. The rooms small but comfy. If I were to rate it I would give it 3 stars, not 4. note that the back rooms look into blocks of flats and a parking space and can get a bit noisy at nights.

Upon arrival the desk clerck informed us that it would cost additional 40 (CH) to park the car. We also could not remove the car while staying there. So you could only park the car and leave the entire stay. Or we would have to find parking else where. The staff at the front desk are not freindly.

The Senator is a very agreeable spot. It's got a funky but clean and comfortable edge to it. Great asset is in room internet (hallalujah) for a reasonable fee. The hotel is easily located a few blocks from a train stop and even nearer a tram stop. The neighborhood is ethnically diverse and the choice of restaurants shows it. There's a cineplex right across the street and a great trendy noodle restaurant. The staff clued us in to a festival taking place and was able to sell us a 24 hour tram pass and give us clear directions. We've been to Zurich before but this was the first time it felt like a fun city to hang out in.

An excellent hotel, with great staff - good facilities. Located just outside central zurich(city) easily accessible by tram (which were excellent) or by train (Zürich Hardbrücke train) to Zurich HB. 10 mins on train to airport.
