As soon as we stepped into the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff which provided us with cool hand towels and chilled champagne. This hotel was more than i expected. It was great! The hotel room was super clean, and they cleaned our room and stocked our fridge more then once a day. My only complaint was that the AC in our room was too cold, but we would just open our balcony door to warm up the room. The food was excellent. We loved the taco bar which provided fish tacos and cheviche. The other restaurants were also great too, but you had to dress up to eat at them. No shorts or tank tops allowed. You need to pack some nice clothing for this place. This is definetly a couples hotel. Quite a bit of honeymooners, so it was pretty mellow. At night it was quiet and very peaceful. The beach was pretty nice. They kept the shore free from seaweed, and they frequently came to our lounge area to see if there was anything we needed. This was a very relaxing vacation. We would come again.

The hotel was perfect and while others recommended other hotels, this one was the best for us. There was nothing not to like about the hotel and the incredible staff. Decrets Capri Maya was everything and more of what we wanted and expected. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were great and the pools and activites were great. The meals were fantastic

Absolutely exceeded our hopes and expectations! Superb service. Nothing to fault. They bent over backwards to serve and help. They had terrific activities and we took the Mayan ruins excursion, went rapelling and zip dining. We had never done those before. The hi9ghlight was the diving excursions and we got hooked - and got o9ur first certifications. We talked to others who have been to other resorts from Cancun on south and every one without exception stated this was the best ploace they ever experienced!

We just came back from a 7 day 6 night at the resort. We loved it. It was our first time doing all inclusive and since it was not on the Cancun strip we were a little nervous about it but we did not need to worry at all. From the minute we arrived to the hotel till the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. Their food was small servings but you can always order more and their drinks were great especially from the pool bar. The pool was warm, the beach water was warm. You don't need to bring your own towels because they provide beach towels during the day and plenty of towels in the rooms. We were looking to get away from the city life and just to relaxed and that was exactly what the resort did for us. I highly recommend this resort if you are looking to get away from it all. If you are looking for night life, this will not be the place for you although their night shows were very entertaining and so was the food provided with the show. We can't wait to back to this hotel again in the future.

Beach is beautiful and water was warm and clear. Service on the beach was also outstanding. Restaurants --Italian restaurant was terrific but the Teppanyaki food at the Asian restaurant was tasteless. Tacos and sushi were also great. room was very nice and the swedish massage at the spa was so good we returned to do it again. Service at the spa was a little iffy since they didn't explain things very well so don't hesitate to ask. large number of yhoneymooners so great for that age group but activites not geared to older couples. For exmaple: Noise in the evenings in hallways and room balconies continue late into the night. atention to detail was not as good as we have come to expect out of some of the other high end all inclusives. example; rom cleanings were late, turn down service didn;t happen except for then last night and we were never given the next day's news leters and had to go searching for it the next day.

we stayed at Secrets Capri from April 1st-April 7th and it was incredible. The resort is beautiful from the lobby, to the rooms, to the pool, to the beach. Everything is very clean and the staff go out of their way to make you feel taken care of. I have never been to a hotel where the staff was so friendly and hospitable. The food was great at Hitmitsu and Portofino. You have to dress up a little bit to go to these restaurants, but not too much. My husband wore jeans and a collar shirt and he was let in. Tips were included but everyone did such a fine job in serving us that we felt bad not tipping; they deserved it. There is only one pool but it is quite large, and we never had a problem finding lounge chairs, and we never had to wake up early to get them (we would generally get to the pool around 11:30. The beach was beautiful and we also never had a a problem finding a little tiki hut to sit under. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean; our rooms were cleaned daily and mini bar was restocked daily. The maid service noticed that my husband was smoking cigars and they left him a carton on one occasion , which was a nice touch. Great place to stay to relax and just unwind and enjoy the beautiful resort and the excelllent service.

Beautiful resort--food was really good (even the buffet!!). I am pretty picky and every spot we went to had something I could enjoy. The staff was friendly (but not TOO friendly) and if you said "No" to an activity, they didn't push you to participate. We had a hypnotist the last night performing and he was FANTASTIC. I really wouldn't have believed it had I not been in the room to see it. It was a fun treat. Parasailing on the beach right outside the resort was * more than at the hotel, but we were able to go right from the resort and didn't have to take a bus to spend all day to parasail 15 minutes with the hotel. Definately something to consider.

If you want a relaxing couples vacation where you are treated like royalty this is the place to stay. The food is 5 star, the rooms are comfortable, the staff is amazing, the pool and beach are clean and refreshing. Every effort is made to make you feel comfortable by every one there. I would highly recommend this resort. My only slightly negative comment is that the food is so amazing I gained 5 lbs in a week... of course that is not a negative of the resort, but my inability to stop gorging myself. This is truly a new favorite for a vacation spot :)

This was our second trip(the last one 4 years ago) and it was great! We've been to a few other resorts that were very nice, but Secrets has it all. The food, service, hospitality, and the overall ambiance of this all-inclusive resort are top notch. We noticed several of the same employees still working there with their bright smiles. They treat you like royalty, especially if you've visited before, they definitely want you to return again. FOOD: All of the restaurants are excellent, I just can't say enough about the food (even better than our first visit). They have 24 hour room service that is hot and fresh. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day w/o waiting to order. Their poolside menu has a good variety of yummy eats. We ate in each of the restaurants for dinner - ALL were excellent! Hibachi grill was really good with lots of food. Private Dining on the Beach for Birthday - steak/shrimp was Awesome! SPA: Our friends who traveled with us visited the spa and said it was one of the nicest and best they've seen. You can get a massage on the beach or spa and then the reviving hydrotherapy treatment at the spa. GYM: The gym has plenty to offer with treadmills, precors, and weight machines. It was never crowded. POOL: Very nice, water a little chilly unless you've had a few drinks; sometimes a little hard to get 6 chairs. BEACH: The beach is a great alternative. There were tons of chairs with umbrellas and it was very peaceful and relaxing - great for reading & napping. OVERALL: Loved it!! Wish we could have stayed longer, we'll definitely go back!!

the pro's outweigh the cons by far. All inclusive is good, but tips go a long way, bring a wad of ones. Go on the zip line excursion. Ignore anybody in the airport, workers will front like they're your transportation company, they are timeshare sellers. Walk outside of airport for your shuttle ride or taxi. Resturaunts were all good, the Himitsu the best, good menue, great Hibatchi experience. Activities and festivals were entertaining. Beach was beautiful. Dress attire is nice in the resort, and fairly conservative on the beach. No topless sunbathing allowed, although we saw two. Topshelf drinks, good food, you could pretty much have steak&lobster every night for dinner if you wanted. Room service is 24hrs a day. Staff is very friendly, most are bilingual (w/some help) and are willing to teach you some spanish if you ask. They have a few tables set up in the evening where you can buy handmade merchandise. Remember to barter, they start prices up extremely high for you to break them down. Don't waste any money in the gift shops, (overpriced). Pool tables in game room are doable for nonpro's but need some work. My new wife and I learned to Salsa Dance while we were there, which they offer an evening lesson almost daily which was a lot of fun. all in all, a great time. Oh, bring some good sun tan lotion, or you Will get burned.

We just got back from our honeymoon at the Secrets Capri in the Rivera Maya. Hands down this place is amazing. The service was top notch, the staff is some of the hardest working people I have met. The 24/7 room service was perfect for those mornings you just want to lay around in bed. We were impressed with the food and restaurants. I recommend the Japanese steak house, they put on a great cooking show and the food was excellent. Overall we could not have asked for a better honeymoon. We were greeted at the door with two glasses of champagne, and they had a bottle on ice waiting for us in our room! Just a couple of tips: -Men bring a polo/ collard shirt and long pants. The nicer restaurants have a dress code. -Check out the spa, we bought the couples massage and it was WELL worth it! -Tip the staff a couple dollars here and there and they will take EXCELLENT care of you. -No need to exchange dollars to pesos. The resort & staff all except US dollars. -Bring plenty of sunscreen, we ran out and the gift shop was way overpriced. -Smokers bring plenty of cigs/black & milds. Again the gift shop was way over priced. I can't say enough good things about this resort. We will be going back for our anniversary! :)

This was our second trip to Secrets and we will go back as soon as possible. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is top notch they are all smiles and will do anything to make sure you are happy and comfortable, The beach is lovely and both the beach and the pool are kept very clean. This is by far one of our favorite resorts.

As soon as we walked in, we were blown away; champagne on arrival, cool towel, and excellent service. We came for our 15th anniversary and loved every minute of the trip. It was definitely worth what we paid, and didn't want to leave. The food was good, some portions were small, but with 24/7 room service you can always eat again. They drinks are a little on the weak side, depending on who makes them, but if you ask for top shelf you will get it. There is nightly entertainment at the hotel so it was nice to always have something to do. We will definitely visit here again or another Secrets. Well worth every penny!!

We just returned from a great trip. The service was great, the food was tasty, the resort was clean and had lots of fun activities. Our room was cleaned promptly, mini bar restocked daily, drink service on the beach was prompt... all was good. The only problem we had was that we were given a room with double beds for 2 nights. They switched our room to a king once it was available, but it would have been nice to have it the whole time. The location was good too- close to Playa, and an easy drive to lots of ruins and local attractions. We would definitely recommend this resort to our friends.

Let me say that, We were very impressed with the hotel, room, food, service, beach, and staff. This resort is geared for honeymoon / romantic getaway, it was awesome. If you want a shot slammin party hotel please go somewhere else, so the rest of us can enjoy a wonderful relaxing resort. The food was above my expectations, it was really good. The only complaint that I have is the tour company that was set up in the lobby. Make sure you check prices of similar tours before you book with Olympus tours. I feel like we were ripped off on the price of excursions from this company and I am filing a formal complaint. This was not the fault of the hotel at all. Book this hotel with confidence, you will not be disappointed.

I've traveled to Mexico several times for vacation, but this is the first Secrets resort I've stayed at. We went for a wedding with my family, and it was very nice. The wedding at Secrets was gorgeous, well worth it. The food was excellent, including the 24 hour room service, which was a big bonus. It always showed up in 30 minutes or less. Unless you get to the pool early, you will not get a chair. But the seats by the beach are easier to come by, and why go to Mexico if you don't sit by the ocean? The service was ok, a little slow by the pool and beach bar/restaurants. I did get annoyed with employees, although very nice and accomodating, hassling us to buy pictures, go on tours, and buy spa packages. I've experienced this before, but never on a nice resort like this. We did do all these things, and they were great, but I did not feel comfortable constantly getting asked over and over to buy things. If you enjoy snorkeling, I would pay the 40 bucks and take a cab down to Akumal. If you go to the dive shop they will take you out snorkeling for 25 bucks...excellent place to see sea turtles, baracudas, and sting rays. Snorkeling and scuba diving were both fun on the resort, but you have a better chance of seeing animals further down the coast. All in all, a fun trip...just whenever you get the final bill...make sure the charges are right. Everyone in our family got overcharged for something through the hotel, which is not easy to dispute.

We had a wonderful 8 day, 7 night stay at Secrets Capri. This was our first trip to an all-inclusive, so we don't really have anything to compare this resort to, but we had an amazing time there. The service was wonderful... the staff frequently checked on us when we were lounging by the pool or beach to see if we wanted more drinks or food. They were all friendly and almost everyone had a smile on their face all the time. The staff really made us feel welcome and cared for. There were lots of activities available at the resort and in the surrounding areas, but we mostly just relaxed by the beach or pool and went swimming. We tried kayaking once but it wasn't too exciting as there was really no where to go (basically out into the ocean a little ways and then back...). The rooms were cleaned twice a day and I simply loved the turn down service in the evenings. The room was very nice, and the bathroom was large and almost entirely marble... really beautiful. The restaurants were all wonderful and delicious. We tried them all during our stay but our favorite was Portofino, the Italian restaurant. Again, at all the restaurants, the service was great and the waiters were very attentive. A few things we didn't like... the pool was closed after 8 pm every evening. My husband and I both enjoy swimming at night, so this was a bit frustrating to us. Also, I got a TON of mosquito bites! Probably about 50 total on my legs during our week-long stay. I read a lot of reviews about the hotel before we went and no one really mentioned a mosquito problem, so I didn't think to bring bug spray. My husband hardly got any bites though, so maybe they just liked me more, but I would bring bug spray with you in case you get a mosquito in your room overnight or spend any time in the hotel lobby (where I was when I got most of the bites). Also, unless you plan to do lots of excursions around Mexico, we wouldn't recommend staying much more than a week there. The week was wonderful and so relax

After traveling for hours, being met at the door of the hotel with champagne provided an auspicious start to the week. The food is fabulous. The breakfast and lunch buffets can't be beat and Himitsu is terrific--we had to make reservations for an hibachi table--we wished we hadn't because the menu was really better than the pre-selected food at the hibachi table. the liquor is top shelf. Servers are grateful for extra tips--we took a lot of singles with us. Everyone was exceptional pleasant and eager to please. We didn't do a lot of the activities available, but the staff does a great job drumming up interest and participants. The beach is a downer--good only for taking a walk (go right, not left). Reserve your lounges at the pool by 7 in the morning. The exchange rate at the hotel is less than you'll get in Playa Del Carmen--a free shuttle ride from the hotel.
