Although the hotel is old it is clean, fairly well maintained and comfortable. The staff were exceptional, in particular Richard and Ice in reception were magnificent and made the check in/out process a pleasure. I will go back again

LikedNice skybar

Disliked- this hotel is super expensive for no reason; a bottle of water for hotel guests in the skybar costs THB 1'000 i.e. USD 30 but the water is not even imported (e.g. San Pellegrino or Evian) but it's the hotel water bottle with the Lebua logo on it - the infrastructure is extremely old and there is a lot of demand for renovations in various regards; the windows and the hallways are dusty and the furniture looks extremely worn-out and old - the elevators are very old and take forever to arrive - they have a dresscode everywhere, even for the breakfast which takes place outside in the heat you need to wear certain shoes - if you would like to work in shorts there is no place to do so with a nice view and wearing shorts, as they require you to wear long pants everywhere except for in the business center - their business center is a very small office without any dailight and it does not offer any bathroom (meaning that you have to switch floors to go to the bathroom) - THB 353 for a cappuccino in the business center is too much - the skybar is only open after 5pm meaning that hotel guests do not get to see the skybars before any external guests do

We stayed at State Tower Suite. The value of the hotel does not match the price. It is a very old hotel and all decor and setting most very much outdated. The hotel smells old. However, the staff (at my floor or restaurants or doorman’s or concierg ) were very nice and smiled every time when we walked by (except front lobby as they seemed to be interested in you during check in process and other than that, they won’t look as friendly ). The staff in front of the elevator were also strict late night as 4/28/24 close to midnight or a bit pass midnight, they started to suspect women going up with any men are prostitutes. They stopped me and my cousin and her daughter and requested for our names for register. We didn’t quite understand but I started getting worked up and finally understood what he tried to do. He later apologized with the nicest manner. Our dress codes did not represent any of such meaning at all. However, we are Thai and my husband is Japanese. We had two suite rooms booked. So it means the hotel might have that kind of guests who brought up such women often. Or perhaps because we spoke Thai and only Thai women going up are only that kind. I am not sure. Additionally, this hotel is owned by Indian so the decor and everything all around seems to represent its culture. Nice part of this hotel are view and Michelin star restaurants on the top. The breakfast place (pool floor) was hot (yup Bangkok heat). They have AC section but still warm in the main section. Breakfast was alright. I have been to many hotels that are more creative and presentable.
