LikedThe hotel has a stunning entrance and grand interior. The rooms were tastefully furnished with regal wallpaper and a chandelier. You can definitely feel this hotel would have been grand in its hay day. Breakfast met expectation. Nice to have the small pool and sauna option.
DislikedYou can get lost along the passageways as it is such a large hotel. The rooms air conditioning didn't work, it was so hot in the room (beginning of April), that we needed a fan. I'd be quite concerned about staying in the July / August heat. Just sheets and raw blankets on the bed which is a little disappointing for the cost. No kettle, tea, coffee or cups. We were able to order hot water though. Most hotel guests were American, so little diversity in clientele. Tiles coming off in pool also added to the general wear and tear feel.

LikedThe hotel is in a nice, classy building. Nice location, near US Embassy.
DislikedThe hotel has a great potential but it is in desperate need for a major renovation. We stayed 7 nights in a superior room - the room was spacious but very old - the bathroom especially seemed 40 years old- and not in line with a 5* standard, the carpet very dirty. The breakfast is average, not many options same for the main restaurant.
