LikedEverything was amazing. The location is excellent, close to the metro station, making it easy to reach anywhere. The receptionists and restaurant staff were super attentive and helpful, especially a gentleman at the reception who arranged transportation cars, provided restaurant recommendations, and patiently answered all the questions we had during our stay.

DislikedNothing.

I’m really not a picky person. But I am at the end of round- the-world trip, and the Mercure Piazza Bologna is the worst hotel we have stayed in over the last five weeks. (And that includes places like Kathmandu and Manila along the way). Let’s start with the good news: It’s close to the Bologna Metro Station and it is clean - although the carpet in our room is quite dirty. But what really gets me is that this is 2024, and we haven’t been able to use the Wi-Fi in our room at all. One bar of Wi-Fi regardless of the time of day or night. It’s so weak, it won’t even update the weather on my weather app or allow me to send a text. Not having strong Wi-Fi in a hotel in 2024 is just as inexcusable as not having a television or a telephone in the room. So this place gets a major thumbs down for that alone. The other thing I expect from a hotel, and this one has a rack rate of €550 a night posted above the front desk, is a decent set of pillows. These pillows are like sleeping on cement blocks. I also rated the staff low because I asked the front desk about the Wi-Fi situation and they promised to look into it and they never did. Again, this isn’t a cheap hotel so when staff say they’re going to do something and they don’t, I find that really annoying and inexcusable.

It’s a 5-minute walk from Metro B line, Metro B is major line connecting to Trevi Spanish Steps and even Colosseum. Good location with good food around. The front desk Marianna speaks fluent English and she’s friendly, kudos to her. I didn’t take hotel breakfast because down the street there’s a good breakfast spot haha stated Cafeteria Saliscendi, whoever stays here can go and try ;-) It’s clean good location bla bla bla they have a carrefour Express nearby too so yah, that’s all!
